This video is more about building the adapter to be honest. This video featured the Amiga A600 which has a single ROM chip, meaning the Hi-Lo information is combined already. If you have a machine with the double ROM chips, then the Hi is in one chip and the Lo is in the other. You program the chips in he same way in the adapter, and make sure you put the right EPROM in the right socket.

Dear question, I have an EEPROM memory with a specific number that I could not find in the market. The memory size is 256 KB. Can it be replaced with another? It does not. have to be the same number, but of course the same size, or it must be the same number and the same size. The one is damaged is one time only read memory"TMS27PC256-20NL". The one i will used is UV EPROM"M87C257-20F1". With same size of course i will transfer data with programmer from TM to M8. Can do that because idont have TM eprom. I have M8 eprom.
@MarkFixesStuff8 ай бұрын
I looked at the spec sheets for both and the pins look to be directly compatible. With old stuff there’s never any guarantee, but there is a solid chance that the M87 will work in place of the TMS27. Good luck!

@oleurgast7303 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of chips with broken legs. I use simple a round machined socket, put the IC inside, use a lot of flux and solder the chip directly in. The solder bridges the gap of the broken pin - even if the pin was broken directly at the ic body, leaving just a very smal piece of metall barly visible from the side. This sandwich of IC and socket I simply put into the socket on the board. No need to burn a new eprom there. Using the adapter is more important if you want your own kickstart - f.e if you want to integrate the 3.1.4.1 upgrade inside the 3.1.4 rom.

Hiya Berty! Yes the same EPROMs work fine in an A1200 as a pair for kickstart ROMs. I don’t know about your specific programmer, but the adapter works like it is a 27C4096 device, so any programmer that can deal with those will work.

@@MarkFixesStuff Thanks for the reply. Re the EPROMs, that is as I suspected, and as for the adapter + my programmer, I can't find any information so I will just take a chance there.
