FYI.... Big A HAD four of these but now only 3 of these remain, (I JUST bought one), for only 399. It should/will play nicely with my "to be delivered by Tuesday" - 4-9-24 - B1 36 watt machine. Looking forward to having the capability to actually ETCH most any type of metals.... Thank for the video overview....

I bought my Atomstack R30 V3 just a month ago. Works great. Seems like they are all pretty same. About 2 Watt optical output achieved with two diodes, optical pump and crystal. Dit is very accurate 0.03 mm square. Ended up buying another machine dedicated for this IR head. Happy camper now.

I’m always a fan of a dedicated machine whenever possible so I can understand buying a second machine to dedicate to an IR head.

@Vintauri I have settled on 3 laser engravers. One really small 150x150 mm. One bigger with blue laser diode and now this Atomstack R30 V2 IR gead on Sculpfun S10. This covers all my current needs. I think that actually every power class of the laser has its place, too. For example, if your machine is not accurate while moving fast or it can't go fast and you only engrave, maybe sinlge diode 5 to 6 Watt head is all you need. It will be lighter than those monster big heads, hence less inertia and mist often they have accurate small focus dott as well. If you cut, sure go big and air assist. Thing people firget that depending on the optical solution focus point can be very shallow. That and the size of the dott makes huge difference. Smaller dott has more compressed energy and will work faster. Right tool for the right job. IR head is a must-have if you want to mark bare metal surfaces and black acrylic.

It is more niche if you need to mark metals other than stainless steel. If you paired this with a rotary you could engrave gold and silver rings as well. But it’s definitely not something everyone needs. Thanks for checking it out!
