The very best of all the sites (videos) that I passed over until I found this gentleman with his tips and explanations applying to varius woodworking techniques that are clear, make sense to a beginning woodworker. All are explained in a calm manner that makes sense from the first step to the successful completion of the topic he is teaching. He has a way of explaining so that a person feels like they are right there with him been given an individualized lesson. By far the best instructional video I have ever watched and learned from no matter the subject I was seeking help with!!

I have more than once thought about how to create an ellipse, though never sought the answer cause I really didn't have to. But then I stumble across your video and get this really simple solution which is now stored in grey matter for the day I need it! Every day you learn something new and useful is a good day! Thanks a lot Mike! 😀

This ellipse hack I was trying to think up for the longest time. The one thing you did which I could not think of was using the relationship between the half distance of center to end point of major axis and the high point to find the focal points! It was almost too simple. Looking at plans and knowing the overall length and height are generally all in given and it’s all I need now!

Thanks for your comment, Tony. It is very much appreciated. Often solutions to problems can be worked out in a simple way just by taking the extra time to think. This also applies when you haven't quite got the right tool. Improvisation can often get you out of difficulty and allow you to get on with the job. Good luck with all your DIY work. Sincerely, Mike

@@American-Plague "Conspiracy theories" are only theories until a person makes the effort to investigate the matter, evaluate the evidence on both sides, and decide whether its true or false. Then it's no longer a theory. Too many people label an idea as a CT immediately because it makes them uncomfortable, so its easier to label and dismiss than to look into it. What they should be looking into is why it makes them uncomfortable.
