I agree completely. I miss Markiplier, the horror explorer. I'll always support this channel, and I realize that horror games are not in endless supply, but I used to watch Mark's videos every day and now I am surprised if he uploads even 4 videos a month that I'm actually excited to watch. Of course he should be able to play whatever he wants, but lately this channel seems to be lacking (in large majority) the type of videos I came here for in the first place.

To be honest, I'd love to see a lot of his old games replayed. I miss the days of his horror series and stuff. I like to laugh as much as the next guy, but I need some content too. It's like, you can compare all the funny stuff he does to say, candy, it's nice, but you get bored with it after a while. but his series and stuff, like dead space, thats more like meat, or a real food, you never get bored with, it's enjoyable and fulfilling.

I think the low quality nature of the Timore games makes them scarier than they would be if they had realistic in-depth visuals and stories. It works in a weird abstract way. These games truly feel like Fever dreams with the jarring clunky sound design, the weird pacing, abstract ambient soundtrack, the lumpy mishapen monsters, and the high contrast lighting.

I don't think it's very fair to say the game is "cheaply made". Yes, the textures aren't very detailed and the assets are a bit crudely animated. However the developer did a great job in creating an unsettling environment and the jumpscares are often well-placed. The developer understands how to manipulate a player's fears and actions to put them in situations that actually make them scared as opposed to just taking spooky images off the internet and playing an earsplitting soundclip. Well done, sincerely.

By those same standards, Gmod horror maps are pants-crappingly terrifying. The point of horror is to unsettle the viewer, not make them feel like they're in a carnival fun-house on Halloween night, and all this does is make you feel like you're running around in a bunch of rooms full of cardboard cutouts waiting to leap at you off the walls and go "boo." At 1:49 for example, all that separates it from "spooky images off the internet and playing an earsplitting soundclip" is that this was "hand-tailored" to look just like every other horror monster with a face that folds open ever in the history of horror. It wouldn't be even remotely startling without the loud noise, much less terrifying.

JUMPSCARES (If you don't want to see the times, then just don't look at them.) 1:49 Doll pop-up 3:11 Another doll pop-up 5:39 Static noise 6:02 Static noise again 6:17 Alarm noise and surrounding creatures 7:39 Car alarm 8:57 Weird plant thing rises up. Seriously, what IS it? 10:06 Mark turns around and a big eye is staring. OLIVER! 11:57 Rrrrring sound, a monster is approaching when he turns around 14:03 Monster sounds, lots of red. 15:35 Oliver comes back! Scares Mark when he turns the corner though 17:41 Rrrrr sound again, same monster 19:10 Screechy sound, doll just disappears. It makes the sound again when he hits it 19:53 Doll pop-up That's pretty much it, I didn't put in the wavy red and every single monster, since sometimes you can see it coming. If there were any I seemed to have missed, just tell me and I'll put them in. ^-^
