I can't express my gratitude enough for Lixian and Mark putting in flashing light warnings, as well as a SOUND CLUE for when its over. I have epilepsy and watching scary playthroughs can be frustrating and sometimes even dangerous without these warnings. Because the subtitles say what sound to look out for I don't need anyone in my house to tell me when its safe again and it just means so much. I love Mark and his content and I feel very loved as a fan because of their effort to keep me, and others, safe.

@@dafibber There are different machines for measuring eye pressures, the one with the picture measures your eye by blasting it with air (I f-ing hate those things, if your eye twitches, they have to redo it) and then there are those with the light where the doctor gets really close to your eye to measure (I'm guessing that's the one you meant? I preffer those over the air pressure one). I think the air pressure machines are older and most doctors that aren't too out of date have the newer light things as they are easier on the patient and probably more accurate, while I've seen the air pressure ones in hospitals for the pre checkup rooms (the proper examination rooms had the new ones). Thought I'm talking about my experiences in germany.

I have an irrational intense phobia of that eye doctor exam machine thing where it puffs air into your eyes. Something in my brain goes nuts, and it floods me with images of it shooting out a needle into my eyes. So much that I actually enter a panic attack every time, and need some time after to recover enough to continue the exam. Thankfully all (but one) of my eye doctors have been patient with me about it, and were very gentle.

If you have diabetes in your eyes like I do. You do have too get injections with a needle too the side of your eye. Luckily they numb your eye with special eye drops before the injection.

There is a pressure test machine that literally bounces a tiny needle off of your eye to measure the rebound force. It doesn’t hurt or anything, but the concept is just ridiculous to me.

There are a couple machines optometrists have that you need to stare into for a few seconds... usually to scan your retinas or something. Not sure what the house/air balloon one is for... might be checking depth perception? Maybe testing which eye is more dominant? Dunno.

Never seen a house, always saw a hot air balloon. But you know what test always freaks me out? The glaucoma test, the one where you have to stare at a green light and they puff air into your eye. I always get so anxious with that test and I hate it. 😂

The green light thing isn't the air. The house/balloon is the air test. The green light thing is a picture of your eyeball that they do instead of dilating your eyes. If the picture is good, they can skip dilation. And it doesn't matter if you see a house or a balloon, it's just some offices have a balloon, some have a house. Marks full of crap 😂

@@Watch_over_us I believe you are mistaken friend. Namely, the tests you name are reversed in their function. The balloon/house test is used to determine, essentially, what your prescription might be, as the image will be in and out of focus. It tracks the measurement of light inside your eye as it refracts and forms the image. The air puff is the one where you have to stare at a green light, without blinking, and they puff air to your eye to test your IOP (intraocular pressure). I usually have to do it a few times cause I always panic blink.

@@Watch_over_us you just missed the green light then. The tests are often done one right after the other. The house / balloon will look blurry then come into clear sight then usually as the picture is still up a green light will show up and that's when the air puff is. Since they're done sequentially people associate the house/balloon with the air puff because it's either still visible during the air puff or done mere seconds before the air puff. I've been going to the eye doctor many times for the past 8 years, had the tests done many o times. Didn't realize it was 2 separate tests until recently.

In regards to the House vs. Hot Air Balloon it isn't a perceptual thing. It actually is different depending on what model auto-refractor that the eye doctor has. Some models have the hot air balloon, others have the house. Some auto-tonometers (the air puff test) have them too. It's simply a coincidence that Mark has only ever seen the house. The image you see at the eye doctors office depends on the image they used. The AR (auto-refractor) watches your eyes focus on an image in the distance to estimate your glasses prescription. They use hot air balloons, a house, a barn, a pinwheel, etc... The machine shown in the video is a slit lamp which is a totally different thing.
