Such an underrated ballet. People have no idea how difficult and how challenging this ballet actually is until they've attempted it themselves.

I had never seen this Pas de Six before. What an extraordinary opening! It's partly the choreography; but it's mainly the perfection of execution by these dancers from the Mariinsky. The whole thing is so memorable, because so beautiful.

Today found excellent Russian made documentary on Tchaikovsky whose three wonderful ballets are adored and loved by every ballet fan especially at this time of year/ the documentary fortunately has english subtitles and is called Between Heaven and Hell it is the best introduction i have ever found to this composer very tragic life/sadly there is almost nothing in it about his ballet compositions which i am hoping someone will soon correct and for which in my opinion he is best known/except for the brief mention of Nutcracker that Ukraine culture minister tried to ban this Christmas due to the war and written in year before the composer tragic premature death/ the documentary reveals what i never knew until today that at time of composition Tchaikovsky only sister slightly younger than himself and to whom he was closely attached had already passed away at only 49 from morphine addiction/ what tragedy/no explanation given about this addiction/ her son also inherited fatal addictions but to alcohol and drugs as result of which he shot himself in 1905 at only 35/ another terrible tragedy/so as i wished to discover more about ballet music that Tchaikovsky himself would have known in his lifetime having been composed in earlier part of this same golden century for ballet music into which he had been born/this brought me to your charming video and i am hoping someone will make documentary on this very wonderful century of ballet composition and dedicate it to this superb composer what a shame for Ukraine to try to deprive their children of such innocent happiness in this way/ CHRISTMAS EVE NUTCRACKER IS LOVELY TRADITION AND THIS BALLET IS SO MUCH LOVED BY CHILDREN and not just children but adults as well as are any one of Tchaikovsky three most magical ballets that he himself wrote so hoping this wish soon comes true and a big THANK YOU VIDEO to our Dear Mister Tchaikovsky may soon appear based on the history of this19 century golden age of ballet a century that has given all of us so much happiness in our foolish and war torn world and that will be a permanent and a very wonderful homage to you DEAR MISTER TCHAIKOVSKY and to your Russian inspired GOD given genius
