Just an FYI-some purebred cats can cost $1,200-$7,000 (Bengals, Sphinx and Maine Coons at the lower end, Savannahs and other exotics at the high end). Maine Coons are often used as therapy pets for autistic children and adults, as they seem to have a unique affinity for them.

why can't you run a pet breeding business out of your home? Also, particularly if your property is big enough.. why not set up a company that provides the service animal services to your property? Although it bight not be tax deductable to you.. wouldn't it provide a way to generate income and then write off the expenses of the care of those service animals? And then from within that entitty you could also provide some foster care to zero out that account? Arent some expenses for upkeep of your property a way to increase the tax basis of the property? Also, couldn't the animals be used for the security and pest control if you are running an airbnb at the property? wouldn't they then be deductable as a business expense?
