I know the feeling, the last few years in Oregon and southern Washington, a lot of fantastic riding zones have been taken out or put on hold as the logging is always in the works.

Man this brings me back to when Mt Benson in Nanaimo was getting logged. All of the hard work, the legendary local builders beautiful wood work destroyed. That place was my escape from things going on with me at home and highschool. Still bothers me to this day that those places are gone, sanctuary for many!

Benson is up for round 2 now, and a handful of trails will likely be taken out fairly soon.

That trail looks insanely steep, and continuously steep. Thanks to trail builders like yourself where even when logging takes place more trails always pop up or get rebuilt. You guys rule!

Lost one of the best trails in the Valley to logging and blasting on Forbidden. Wasn't ridden a lot, was fast flowy and fun. It is still there but was never the same.

Forbidden will definitely never be the same! Insane difference up there

Sick trail, hope to see it make a comeback in 6 months or something 👊. Bigger and better. Or. Maybe more natty after it has time to regrow

Dude it's getting out of hand. They recently just mowed down and built a new logging road on little mountain. Like, I get we all need paper but why harvest in our back yards when there is so much available out in the boonies. Great vids as always.

Vancouver Island is over 80% working TFL. With the new government to the south and his economic plans.... Get used to seeing more cutblocks in the next 4. Forestry is the main economic driver on the island. The money stops for no one.

clearcutting makes more profit in the short term but less long term. its a very short sighted practice that works against their own self interest.

Forbidden area? thats a bummer. Radar hill in CR has some good steeps, Menzies just north of CR as well... Menzies needs some new trails, could be an epic site, Ha I wish I had time to volunteer.
@MarkMatthewsMTB8 күн бұрын
Menzies is an amazing mountain with massive potential. It could be another mount Prevost if it got funding and community support.

@@MarkMatthewsMTB Exactly, And plenty of room for some campers/tents at the top, a shuttle service... so much potential, But it being as far out of town as it is, it would be hard to convince the city to fund any of it. Ideally someone would try to buy/lease it and invest their own money to try and make a legit bike park business. Ha my fingers are crossed I don't f*ck up crypto this cycle ;) lol

You should tell all the trail builders at Seymour that it’s a risk you take when building unsanctioned trails
