Well done Marcos. totally agree (as always :-))about the different conditions for different fluro. But soft and not so long (1.5 meters long), for me experience. Hi marcos, for me, it's important to regulary check the leader and the knots for damage. If they are damaged i immediately change the leader or retie the knots. For every type of fishing! Leader to braid = FG knot and leader to lure = trilene knot. Completeley reliable😊 and I also use long leaders.

I use a leader for a maximum of 3 hours. About 1 meter or 1.5 meters. I've made it a habit for myself now. Thank you for this nice information.

Fluorocarbon is really important when fishing on rocks or reef. I recently fished in Egypt and was faced with the need to make a leash of at least 4 meters, because GTs of 12+ kg are regularly taken into the corals. Next time I plan to use a 10-12 pe spacer between the fluorocarbon leader and the main braid.

#Markos when i make my leader long im having problem with the FG knot specifically when casting. The FG knot is catching the rings on the rod and pulling them away. Am i doing bad knot or ?

Probably too long or too thick! Try making it shorter or thinner

I have PE #1.5 braid, and 0.40 fluorocarbon for that. I have read on the internet that the breaking point of your fluoro should be two times more than your braid. My braid is rated 16kg and fluoro 12kg. Is that okay?

I never understood these theories about how much stronger or weaker the FC line should be compared with the braid, since FC leaders are used in different fishing styles and ways, with different needs... You should be fine normally, but better keep in mind the diameters I mentioned in the video 😊

Hello sir. I would like to ask if connection could damage your ring guide? Because i tried it also and my casting feels terrible. I use 4 mtrs leader also for my 40lbs line and 50lbs leader about 0.7 dia. I could hear a loud knock sound everytime the connection comes out of the ring. Hopping you could help me with this one. Σε μακρινή βολή ναι! Χάνεις κίνηση. Διορθώνεται εύκολα! Προφανώς το Leader σου είναι σχετικά μαλακό. Βάζεις σκληρό και είσαι οκ! Σε καμία περίπτωση μην κοντύνεις το παράμαλλο!
