I am sorry, reasonably priced? 11.5K for 69PS in a 225kg bike is reasonable? I get it. It's a new technology. But what immidiate benefits does it offer to the rider? Where is your investment going? Budget forks, budget brakes in a budget bike but plaster "hybrid" on the side and you can sell it for a premium. I have no idea who is this bike for. Maybe it's a proof of concept.

When you look at that particular car going by at 19:02 lol, that’s basically what this bike is - a two wheeled version of a Toyota CH-R … which incidentally is the car I currently drive! I like this self-charging system on my four wheeled motorcar, however on a motorcycle for me at least it’s just not inspiring me much, I just don’t think this is the way forward for us bikers, unless of course it was used purely for commuting to and from work, and or as a 2nd runaround bike. Think I’ll be sticking to petrol only for as long as I possibly can, preferably with 100+ horsepower..👍🏻

Another great video Mark ! I can't help but think this is the answer to a question no one asked though. I'm not knocking it, the technology is very interesting but who are Kawasaki aiming this bike at? I'm not sure I get it. The price tag is very salty in my opinion as well! It'll be interesting to see how many Kawasaki sell not only in the UK but worldwide. Our local dealer in Albury NSW has got a demo bike but they've convinced zero potential customers to even sit on it according to the dealer principal. Greetings from Australia mate. Great review !

Interesting review. I have a hybrid car that is the best of both worlds. Very economical but also plenty of power. However, I don't see the point of this bike. On a 125 mile ride I got 76mpg from my KTM 790 Duke the other day and I was still having fun in places. The KTM will handle far better, is considerably lighter and has plenty of power and performance. It also costs considerably less to buy. Fair play to Kawasaki but I can't see this selling.
@hotrob
@hotrob 4 ай бұрын
I agree. The whole point of a hybrid is to reduce petrol consumption, but Kawasaki seem to have demonstrated that is doesn't really work well for bikes because of the excess weight. Why buy this bike that gives about 76mpg, when it costs about twice as much as a Honda CB500 which has a similar size petrol engine that gives more mpg? I've recently been on a 96 miles ride on my CB500F (2023) and according to the trip computer it achieved 101mpg.

@@markpulling12 Thanks for the reply mate. I meant that I always run my bike for a little while to warm the engine before pulling away. If I use the electric from a cold start, the engine hasn't even been turned on yet. So I'll be accelerating on what is essentially a cold unstarted engine.

Well done Mark, for getting to grips with all that tech in such a short time and bringing us a very comprehensive review. And well done Kawasaki for being brave enough to give us this on a production bike, which I'd consider to be emerging technology (for a motorcycle). The implementation may not be perfect, but it's pretty damn good for a first attempt. We now need governments to realise that motorcycles are a big part of the solution for sustainable transport and hybrid versions even more so. I'm perplexed that the ban on new ICE cars even includes hybrids and we're yet to see what their plans are for bikes. For now, I'll continue to enjoy my petrol engined bike, but, honestly if the only choice became either a full EV bike or a hybrid, I'd choose the latter. We'll see how other manufacturers respond in the next few years. Come on Honda, how about a "NC7"? they're halfway there already with their DCT tech. Edit: I hope Kawasaki keep plenty of replacement "e-Boost" buttons in stock 😂

So they decided to pull a Toyota ? Looking forward to this one, just curious how it's like against a full electric bike and a full ICE counterpart. This might be a decent stopgap (environmentally) until we figure out some to solve the carbon emissions problem. I don't believe in full electric as a ICE replacement. I think hydrogen and/or synthetic fuels are the way forward. People talk about how one or the other is going to be the future, why not all of them and let the market choose ?

I think this power train would be perfect for a Maxi Scooter. But not all people like that riding position. We all know that soon some city centers will band all ICE engines and will go EV only. So this bike will be a good option for people who commute from the out of town to city centers. No engine heat just twist and go through traffic. And on the way back you got your sport mode for a bit of fun and your weekend trips. No long waits with charging times because the bike charges itself. All in all a good idea. If they can get the price down to sub 9k pounds it will sell.

Sorry, but that is just too much techno...I hate this.

Way too underpowered and not that practical for any long distance, ok for commute or short hops

This bike gearing makes absolutely no sense, why force a button to change gears it should just have an automatic setting like Honda or just stick with the foot peg switch gearing that’s more natural for riders you shouldn’t have to Fluff about doing e boost to get the best performance and should be in hybrid mode all the time but right now it’s basically the 450 most of the time which is a real shame it’s too gamer than biker setup for its own good

Very impressive bike, but that's a lot of money for pointless tech.

Climate change is one of the biggest lies of all time. The only reason the weather is going crazy is because governments are manipulating it to scare us into more taxes and less freedom. It's obvious if you look up...

In principle a nice little bike, but i wouldnt buy it, stupid pillion seat and no grab rails, drop style narrow bars. The mrs wouldnt go near it and neither will I . Its not a sports bike kawasaki!

I don't like the sound of 'hybrid' anything. It adds unnecessary technology and implies other things, which I am not going to go into for fear of being ghosted by KZbin. I am about to buy a car in Thailand and will be buying a diesel. As a matter of principle.

A mild hybrid cars doesn't really cause many issues. If its a diesel with a dpf or with add blue I'm not going near it. Probably don't want an EGR valve either

Every car / bike is a hybrid, you use an electric motor to start an internal combustion engine . Hybrid progress is just an extension of this.

@@Grahamvfr Some extension.

@@1990-t1j Yea, well in mild hybrid cars the electric motor simply operates the stop start (no starter motor) and a bit of boost to the engine, in a full hybrid (like the Kawasaki) it's extends to driving the wheels also.
