Steve Smith! - . . Jordan is a virtuoso. it would be great if the throngs of people that see him . . playing eight notes with John Mayer and Clapton could become aware of his amazing body of work (ie. Steve Kahn . .)

Back in the day I used to go to Seventh Ave South in the village and see Jordan playing with all configurations of the "Brecker" bands...... it was often just a mixed up batch of anyone of the heavy NYC session guys from that time.....

@Laight4work cool no harm no foul -as much as I thought "Laight4work knows that :)" I know there are some young cats that'll come here to this page and not know. A lot of 'learning backwards' happens to the younger drummers (via You Tube!) BTW I don't think I could pick "a favorite Steve"

@stillphil - yes . . sorry. that was rhetorical. / Steve is one of the all time greats and definitely developed his own distinct voice . . but he definitely started out as a Gadd fiend.

Steve Jordan had a different lilt to his playing compared to Gadd. His cymbal work is also different. Personally I love Gadd but Jordan is my man
