Thank you for sharing this information, very informative! I watched your original video of these boxes being planted and replicated your approach with my hedge, 94m length! They are doing great, I’ve had 3 plants die out of the 205 which I don’t think is bad going, the rest are super healthy and thriving. I stupidly planted them in the summer when we had 40 degree weather in the UK, I know this was a terrible idea but it was surprise present for my partner. Thank you for all the advice you provide on your channel, it’s great! 😊

Thanks for this lovely comment. Much appreciated, 3 out of 205 is an excellent statistic I think. Lol not such a good idea to plant in high summer but it sounds like you really managed to get away with it. presumably you watered a lot? Mark

Thanks Mark for the very useful tips and information 😊. My main concern where I live is box caterpillar....Any thoughts on that?

You're talking Barbie sized plants. My box hedge is 4 foot high and about 15 years old. Now, suddenly gone brown and died. Rose Bush growing through it is still alive. 4ft high x 8 ft long and 2ft deep. Suddenly gone brown. Why?

It may be blight. But it may be something simpler. I had some mature box go brown once. I gave it an intensive period of feeding. Turned out to be potassium deficiency. Try feeding both at the base and the foliage with a feed which is higher in potassium. Don't prune this year. After 6 weeks regular feeding mine sprung into green life.
