The jacket is different today , no removable hood, no wire in the peak of some other softer material , says on the label 650 fill power . Priced £69 . 🤔 . I have 3 of them in the black, red and grey colours . I Also have collected 30 mountain equipment lighline jackets including the Eco version . Next on my radar is the mountain Equipment K7 hopefully in majolica . I bought a Rab Ascent in green form Cotswold outdoors . It had to be collected by royal mail straight away on the Monday after Saturdays delivery , because it was sent out to me with a broken zip 😡 . Still waiting for the refund , back to my credit card , a week has nearly past since then . Got to ring them back Monday about my refund .

Really good jackets. I've just bought my second one from Go Outdoors for the amazing price of £59!! I bought the first one 3 years ago, and it's been washed and proofed a couple of times and still looks brand new to be honest. It's now my dog walking jacket, so it gets used every single day, and as I said, still looks great. The new one is slightly different in a few places, velcro instead of elasticated wrists, inside, instead of outside third pocket and lack of adjustment on the top of the hood, but nothing that makes it worse. I also paid a fortune for a Rab down jacket last year. and like an earlier poster, I just don't wear it, it feels so fragile in comparison, and I'm always worried about trashing it. The North Ridge is a fantastic jacket for the price.

Hi Alan - glad you rate the jacket; I really like mine and would probably go for another when it’s time to replace; found it to be very durable; impressive warmth and good value for money; especially at that price 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time share your thoughts. ATB Mark.

Owned one of these for a year. Much better than the Berghaus I still own at half the price. Zips are way better.

I've just come across this as I brought the same colour jacket as you have today from blacks.it was ment to be £200 but was reduced to £97. Then I had a 15% voucher so it went down to £82.45p..my toggles work fine.sometimes you just got to work them in properly..I had a Rab duck down coat and it has to be as warm as that.good fit..love how the hood comes off.only thing on a down point is there's way to much slack material inside the hood but the local seamstress guy in town will sort that out for a tenner..I've spent alot of money on some coats.north face,Berghaus,Rab etc but I love this..and you got to look at what your paying ...brilliant coat mate I agree with all you said..cheers dude..

I just got the blue version from GoOutdoors for £59. To replace my 15 year old Mountain Equipment lightline jacket. For £59 I dont expect top quality but hope to get a few years out of it, we will see.

Really decent jacket! Paid £17 for a lightly used on online (no hood, but I don't use the hood) This will be a daily jacket for me. Even at £90, if it lasted you one or two Winter's it is still good value for money! I have / have had expensive Rab down jackets and just don't use them because I'm worried about wrecking them/snagging them etc... So this is a god send for me

Hi George Vinted is great £17 - that’s amazing 👍 totally agree. I use the mountain equipment kit for when I’m in the mountain’s; but as you say this is really good everyday coat and looks good too. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on the coat. ATB Mark.

I've just ordered one from blacks for £59.00 to replace a berghaus zephyr that I've had for 4 years. I'll be using it as an everyday and hoping it holds up to the west coast of Scotland weather 🤞

What’s the sizing like, I’m 6’1 and thinking of getting a large. Your reckon that’d be the right decision? I like a slim fit but want enough room for a hoodie underneath potentially. Cheers
@MarksGoneWalking3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam; I’m only about 5 7; 11.5 stone and I’m wearing a medium. So I think a large would be a good choice; maybe an idea to get down to Go Outdoors and try a couple on. Good luck with finding the right one. ATB and Thanks for watching 👍 Mark.

Have you had any experience in the brand tog24. As I’m a bigger guy and find talk 24 are generous with their sizing and go up to a 5XL

Nice review - thanks for posting. Seen this jacket for sale in Go Outdoors and noted the difference in price compared to something like a Rab, Mountain Equipment, or Bergaus. I automatically just assumed given the difference that it wouldn’t be as good, but your review here seems to suggest otherwise. Great to see these jackets being reviewed though - the more ‘cost of living’ friendly ones to get that are still very good quality. Just a question - have you experienced/ used any Mountain Warehouse insulated/ down jackets? I note that they are budget friendly prices too but just unsure how good they are!
@MarksGoneWalking2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for taking the time to comment; always like to hear one of my reviews has been useful. Love this jacket and it’s my go to coat for this time of year and I even used it on top of the mountain’s so can definitely confirm it’s insulation properties. Not for everyone I’m sure, but I tend not to be tied a brand. Not as yet tried mountain warehouse ( you’ve given me an idea for my next purchase maybe 🤔). I would take a look at Decathlon range of down jackets. They are good value for money - if you have time take a look at Paul Messners channel he did a review on budget down jackets which I recall was very good. Good luck finding the right coat for you. ATB Mark. Off to put my North Ridge coat on. 👍

@@MarksGoneWalking Thanks for your advice, Mark. Much appreciated. I do actually own a Decathlon jacket. A Forclaz Trek 100, which is brilliant value for money and really warm with 800 full power. I just like to check out reviews of different jackets and came across this one as I had seen it in Go Outdoors. I’m always on the lookout for bargains and good value for money. Would certainly be interested to see your review on any Mountain Warehouse gear 👍 enjoy your day.

Who's paying you to say this mate? I've had this jacket 2 weeks, there's feathers coming out allover the place, the elastic pull cords come loose instantly, and it's really not warm... At all. It's by far the worse jacket I've ever owned
@MarksGoneWalking2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. No endorsements;bought for me as a gift, I’ve not had the same problems. ATB Mark.
@ipodgooroo2 жыл бұрын
The elastic pull cord issue is widespread, I just got one second hand (£17) and they come loose. However, if you tie the elastic just past the plastic toggle, it keeps it at the point you would like it, so it's fine! I find mine to be really warm though...! Comparing to a Rab Summit down jacket I have, it is just as warm, if not warmer actually.
