Random but I hate when pastors come around with their clickbaity titles that are “oh so convicting isn’t it?” “FIXZX YOUR LIFE” man it just triggers and amps up my compulsion to immediately just cave in to fear, so I even turned off the ability to see recommended videos, so I can just focus on my journey. Not fear. Thx mark.

Amen! Paul even goes on to expound that obediance without love comes to nothing! Here's an OT example. When Judah found out Tamar was pregnant he immediately ordered her to be killed, which was the Law of God, but then he found out the child was his own, love kicked in and he had mercy and took Tamar as his wife! Perfect picture of Christ!

I struggle with this so much so that its effected my relationship with God. I was being disobedient for many months and the one time i decided to repent properly, i tried to do what was right all the time. It drove me deeper into a depression and it really effected my love for the Lord. Now I'm not sure what to do now because I want to obey God, but obedience is hard when my heart is harder and i know that my heart feels really far. I want to obey, but i've already abused His grace so much with disobedience.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

I suggest watching/listening to his videos specifically on religious ocd. When one thinks of needing to ‘repent properly’ it can be a compulsion, and a symptom of a punishment-based relationship with God. Everyone is disobedient, that’s why His grace is there. It is black and white thinking to think that you have abused His grace.

@@bjones5791 yes. C S Lewis was brilliant. Sadly, many believers are still trying to get God's approval by obeying the 10 commandments,. They say with the help of the Holy Spirit 😪

Hey Mark what if you see obedience as a threat and not as a statement made in love. A lot of times when I think of obedience stress rises because I think obedience or the rule is threatening me

Focus on God, praise Him. Don't focus on yourself. You're accepted in the Beloved. When you're focused on God's goodness and character you'll love him. And when you love Him, then it's easier to obey.

Believing God's truth is obedience. Even that, God helped me believe him. Truth is, we are forgiven, loved and accepted because of what Jesus did for us not because of what we do or dont do.

I was brought up "rules" and commandment focus within growing up in the Church (SDA). But and home and outside of church us not strict of disciplined only jobs/school focused home life and getting by life with being entertained. I found it challenging to keep living up to any standard. I tried doing and being invloved in church more because I was getting convicted living in the "world" more than loving and obeying God and living for Christ. and then I would be backsliding or not fully or truly converted. Then it was another battle of not reaching out to others because we are It was really the love is missing. But I understand how rules/LAws create a type of order or system and instructions for a type of life.

God is faithful to His own unchanging nature and Word, not because of our actions, but because of who He is. So if God has promised to provide for all your needs, He WILL do it! ❤ He also wants to walk with you THROUGH the sins, so that you will not them anymore ❤❤❤

This is helpful Mr. DeJesus. Thanks. Checking this out as a way of screening you for some people in my life who asked me about you. I was nervous when I saw this video title, and was listening to see if you would throw obedience under the bus, but you didn't. That 1 John 5:3 thing "The commands are not burdensome" -is gold. Usually, when hard-working Christians feel burdened, it's not because of the commands, but because of their perfectionism or their OCD. The thing to throw off is not the pursuit of obedience, but their perfectionism and the OCD gunk. Thanks for targeting that stuff, not making obedience a bad guy. You are walking into the tension and not taking shortcuts. I even think there is a form of "slavery to righteousness" that is healthy (Romans 6:18, etc). But it's only in the context of healthy relationship and being secure in his love that that form of "slavery" is safe. And most of your audience just isn't there. Or (myself include), we drift in and out of it. But yeah, thanks for not making love and obedience into enemies. So many teachers are doing that and winning huge followings. Much better to endure the tension, and really find out what the source of discouragement is, rather than throwing out babies with bath-water. And oh my word, your sound-effect game is on point! Well-done!
