Hi, Johnny, if you are still interested in doing a video of package knots, I have a little update. I saw when I was young doing this knots but just before the last one, two or three bows were passed around the crossed lines to form a useful handle in the midle. It would be interesting also to know how to tie a round shape package. Thanks to you two for your good tutorials.

Safer to start with "Canadian jam". The crossing knot is called "Shopkeeper's knot".

I find the crossing knot is easier to tie if you push the bight under the cord and then thread the working end through just the bight. Much less fiddly.

Any reason that the initial loop couldn’t be created using a figure-of-eight on the bight; i.e. instead of a bowline etc?
