@@TechEnthusiastInc Real awesome concept conveying. Please do more video. Are you doing full course in video format for data center concepts. If yes please provide link for the same. I am feeling BGM while u talking deep technical make me uncomfortable. Please consider too.

Thank you, Ragu! I appreciate it. At the moment I don't have any full courses online, I have only been doing live trainings so far. However, I have it in my short term plans to make some online courses so keep following me and you might hear some news related to this sooner than you expect. Excellent point about he background music! I am pretty torn myself about the BGM, on the other hand I like it very much but sometimes, yes, it is distracting. I will definitely pay more attention to it in the future. Maybe I will just dim it down when going thru a heavily technical part in the video. Or leave it out completely if the whole video is deep technical.

Great video about a great product! (PowerStore I mean 😉)
@TechEnthusiastInc3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Samuel! PowerStore sure is an interesting product and a milestone for Dell. So, do you have hands-on experience with PowerStore?

@@TechEnthusiastInc I'm a PowerStore support engineer.

Whoa! Nice. So, I guess you do have some hands-on experience. 😆 I really like the idea of AppsON - something truly new on storage arrays. However, as I mentioned in the video I am still quite confused about PowerStore using RAID 5 while everyone else is using at least RAID 6. I would love to hear your point of view on that.

Sure it runs 1800 VDs but.. what are they doing on them?
@TechEnthusiastInc4 жыл бұрын
That's a great question! It's always good to understand what's behind the numbers. LoginVSI is a well renowned company specialised in VDI stress testing. They are testing and validating various platforms from all main vendors like Dell, HPE, VMware, Nutanix. NetApp etc. They are using the same standard workloads to test different systems. For testing SimpliVity 325, they used "Knowledge Worker" workloads that run 2 vCPUs (at 100%), 1.5 GB of RAM, have 5-9 applications open and consume on average 8.5 IOPS. You can find more detailed info on LoginVSI workload types from here: www.loginvsi.com/documents/whitepapers/login-vsi-an-introduction-to-login-vsi-workloads.pdf As I attached in the description, LoginVSI HPE SimpliVity 325 test results can be found from here: www.loginvsi.com/blog/1091-login-vsi-results-hpe-simplivity-325 So, they managed to run those 1800 Knowledge Workers without even close to hitting the latency threshold value for this amount of VDI sessions. The best part about independent stress tester like LoginVSI is that numbers are totally comparable. Even if you can't run 1800 sessions in your own environment, the test numbers tell a story compared to others on the market.

@@TechEnthusiastInc Great and well reasoned/detailed answer. Thanks!!! 300 on a single machine is fantastic!!
@TechEnthusiastInc4 жыл бұрын
Yep, it is pretty impressive from a 1U/1CPU machine! 😊 I can easily see a lot of edge/robo installations coming to SimpliVitys direction with this news.

HPE dHCI really hci infraestructure and not sure,,, its a converged infraestructure...
@TechEnthusiastInc3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, Christian - I still don’t think of it as a pure-blood HCI because of its disaggregated nature. But it definitely is not like traditional CI either, it is much more standardised and the user experience actually is exactly like HCI so it is not far fetched to say it is HCI. Whatever category it belongs to, it fills a gap in the portfolio and people seem to be increasingly happy with dHCI.
