You've just taken what I've seen from half a dozen other people demonstrating the prayer movement, and made it 10x more interesting. It's the transition into the 360. I love it! ......and thank you for the suggested work times. I do appreciate having the recommended intervals of reference to get me started. Your knowledge on sensible proportion of times is what I value equally as important as the demonstration. Thanks again for another excellent demonstration, and I can't wait to see more!!

Mark, your approach to training and life in general are inspiring. You are a genuine instructor who stands above all the other usual crap on here. Been making great progress with kettlebells watching your videos. I have a mace and clubs on the way as well. You're a game changer and I look forward to learning from you for the foreseeable future. One question, anymore sandbag videos on the way? Been using them alot since the world changed. Bigtime ass kicker.

Well this channel just gets better and better... thanks so much for the effort putting these videos out. Inevitable question for you... desert island scenario... you can only have one tool - club, kettlebell or mace - which would you pick? And what weight for the longest use? Personally I find myself leaning towards the heavy club as my One Tool To Rule Them All

After watching this “prayer transition” over and over this weekend, I think I finally got it! I showed this moved to my elementary school students and they began to speak in terms I have rarely heard of. I think they were specific Martial arts words. Anyway, I want to try Aikido but now using the mace, I might try kendo. It’s offered right next door to me. Believe it or not. Tim now in Kasuga

I love your content. Lol forgot who gave you a shout-out but I didn't know the amount of stuff you can do with this. I had a 30 lb for a while and the only thing I did was slam it on a tree stump but now I can do more with it. Lol I'm mostly using a 12 lb sledge hammer for the new movements but hopefully I can master it on my 30 lb one day

First 10lb mace is on the way. I do a lot of halos during my warmups or during circuits with kettlebells. I plan to use the mace as an "off day" mobility/recovery tool between my structured barbell/kettlebell days. These flows will consist of 360/prayer casts into movements like cossack squats, overhead squats, and windmills. Outside of these fundamental movements, are the more complex mace movements going to have the same return for someone not interested in mastering the mace?

if your elbows naturally hyperextend, should you go all the way, or block them at 180° ? (also, geeking out here, but your 40° looks more like a 30°) anyway, your videos are always a service to humanity, sir.

Mark, great videos! I started clubs because of you and it's great. Much more complex! I bought a 8kg club and I'm trying to do press, but it's difficult. Can you give some inputs about types of presses with clubs? Thank you so much!
@MarkWildman4 жыл бұрын
The front press is really the cream of the crop. It’s basically not in any other system of training

The trouble is I can barely do the 360 with the 7lb if I choke up on the handle, but if I want to do prayer switches as an exercise for biceps my 10 doesn't feel like much. I was strength training with weights and a trainer pre covid, but that behind the head swinging and pulling up motion ....it must be muscles I didn't use that much before.
@MarkWildman4 жыл бұрын
most people don't use those muscles. start with the kb halo to warmup. let me make a break out video for you to help. it will be a behind the head swing video.

So...I finally purchased a mace, but hasn't delivered yet. Question: I've got 4 days of Kettlebell and 2 days of clubs in a 6 day training week. Which workout am I substituting, or should I just sneak a few exercises in on the regular days?
@MarkWildman4 жыл бұрын
if its a light mace. put it as a "back burner" warmup

Just realised the arc has 3 weight configurations that keep the heavy end manageable. ( 6 , 8.5 , 11 ) This prayer transition I actually like with the arc as both shoulder positions can be packed nicely ( with the pommel you end up in a sword like grip just off horizontal). Am I kidding myself that the arc could be used for this entire series?

Got my first 4kg one on strengthshop.de, but it turned out to be a long handle version, about 130cm. No problems using it, I just don't hold it at the end, but I feel the longer handle gets in the way a bit. The other day I ordered a 6kg one from lifemaxx.com and made sure it's a more normal handle length, just over 1m.
