I liked your description. The rowing machine’s angry cousin. I bought one last fall and sold my rower (not a Concept 2). I like this better - Posterior chain strength is what I am working on and this is a great cardio adjunct to my Adex club routines. Thanks for your videos. I find them extremely helpful and have been following now for a couple of years. Appreciate you.

Thanks for doing this video. I am a bit of a cross-country skiing enthusiast. I love this machine, even with the stationary limitations. I tend to bend more at the hips, knees flexed, like a 'Good morning ' exercise.

Designed by rowers for rowers the Concept 2 Rower… and the SkiErg is equally insanely brilliant! I wish my gym had these … but these are not common here at South Korean gyms…

Have you considered reaching out to Tiger Woods? Given your experience with your knee, you might help his recovery physically and mentally. He limped so much during the PGA Championship, he has so far to go. Thanks for all you do.

I have one of these as well as the concept 2 rower and bike erg, to go along with my Echo Bike in my home CrossFit gym. Definitely a pricey piece of equipment. But we’ll worth it and I agree. It’s the angry cousin of the rower. I’ve always said it’s essentially the ski version of an echo bike if not worse. God awful cardio anyway you implement it in your training. Whether in a WOD or just to do cardio.

Can we do this basic rowing movement (swimming circle kind) with a resistance band attached to a hook and then rowing its free ends?
@MarkWildman2 жыл бұрын
Sure

I do rowing like this.... hook the resistance band in the top of the door jam and row. I'm sure there is not as much resistance as this machine.... but for now, it's increasing my mobility.

I think I saw a Versa Climber in one of your older videos. I wonder why they never got huge? They’re brutal and transfer to climbing ladders great…

Because they are 2500$ price point is way to high for normal people

It actually seems like its much better than a rower for re-conditioning exactly because it is pretty much a standing rower machine. I have been doing skier squats/swings for cardio and although they use my arms and legs, there is no resistance for my arms and not a lot of calf involvement. They consistently keep me at 130-145HR for long duration Zone 2/3. Any ideas for how to do this amazing ski erg exercise with much cheaper equipment such as resistance bands?
@MarkWildman25 күн бұрын
Kettlebells and clubs are a better alternative than resistance bands. I have had tons of bands in my career. I’ve snapped almost all of them. I have yet to hurt a kb or club. Swing program.
@bmp71325 күн бұрын
@@MarkWildman Kettlebells or other weights put too much strain on my back. The ski erg eliminates most of the back strain with the motion being downward against resistance instead of lifting upward. But I can't figure out how to do the ski erg motion with resistance without an elevated bar for bands

Hello Mark. I just found your videos and am going to be starting this training. I'm having an issue finding a kettlebell in the 2kg starting range on the websites you linked. You'd mentioned to get competition ones, but I'm not seeing any in that lower weight. Should I just get the 4kg ones? I'm afraid to hurt myself starting out.
@MarkWildman2 жыл бұрын
2 kg aren’t made. How old are you, what kind of shape are you in how much do you train now. Let’s try to determine a proper starting weight

@Rach19412 жыл бұрын
@@lcliffbrett I’ve owned and regularly used a C2 Dynamic for several years after previously using a Model D. Reputed to be much easier on the back than C2’s static ergs, I still get the same great workout as I did on the D. Like other C2 ergs, the Dynamic is almost maintenance-free and essentially indestructible. It’s also about 1/4 the cost of the RowPerfect dynamic rowers.
