The most terrible PPV with a terrible main event!

It's time to take a look at World Wrestling Allstars which bridged the gap between WCW/ECW and TNA starting up. The show heavily featured Jeff Jarrett and Some bannana's. Brett Hart also ruined an already terrible main event.

For anyone curious, Juvy was fired from WCW last time he was in Australia, WCW Thunder Down Under, after he consumed all the drugs in Melbourne and ended up stripping off and going crazy in his hotel, with the police arresting him. Thus, why he celebrates being back.

They honestly had some good talent in WWA, and Jeff Jarrett was committed to making AJ Styles a star. He brought him from WCW to Australia, the brought him to TNA, hell, AJ was a 3 time champ before Dixie took over and made him into a comedy act under christian, where he literally was champ 1 time in 7 years, and only won his 2nd title at the very end when he was about to leave anyways, as a attempt to keep him. Dixie never saw AJ as a main guy.

If Nick could get the NWA belt back then have a match with Barood for the climax final match of his UK tour, an NWA world title match. I think that would be a perfect ending. He will lose obviously lol. But a match against Aldis for the title would probably be the best thing in his life. This could also be a great way to tie into the storytelling of them wrestling together years ago in India. My god. The camerawork in the second show. Holy hell! What were they thinking? They didn't seem to have stations for the cameras, and were just.. moving them all over the place, and as a consequence, were missing 3/4ths of the in ring work. A sick move loses a LOT when it happens barely in frame, the camera is moving all over the place, and there's so many camera angle jumps, that it gives you whiplash! They obviously weren't using a crew here who were experienced with recording anything like this. The areas they had the cameras in were some of the worst places to put cameras. And NOTHING was centered on ANYTHING. The camera that's out in the audience looking down on the ring is so out of place that the ring takes up the left side of the screen and part of it is cut off! What a mess!

Heck yea keep going. I have been a watching wrestling since Bruno was champ (1st time around) and have seen a lot of good and bad stuff and i think your channel has a good place in helping to give some of the lesser know about or seen stuff . I remember the pre internet days when we had to track promotions out of our area (US) with magazines thankfully a friend had one of those giant satellites from the late 70s / early 80s era and we could get wrestling action from across the US ,Canada and sometimes Mexico and Japan and a lot of that has never been seen or is lost . With the advent of the internet and modern production we can see a lot of wrestling from the last 20-30 years and I think you have a good place to help preserve this . I liked your series on TNA in India and was wondering if any chance of seeing some stuff from the UK / Europe or any where else in the world out side of North America or Japan. Also any interest in doing some series on older North American shows 70s or 80s (World class in Texas ,Mid South , AWA ect) , though i know WWE has the rights to a lot of it so that may be a tough one to do and maybe there wouldnt be an audience for much of it so i would understand Keep up the good work as long as you love doing it or ill hit you with a brick :)

Having a "major" wrestling promotion, yes I use that term lightly, tour Australia is and was something that doesn't happen all that often, so yeah there was some interest in this show and not only because there was some big names associated with it. I was there and I definitely paid for my ticket, not saying it was exactly worth it, but I seriously doubt the claim from some other dude that most of the 8000 in attendance received "free tickets", I'd go so far as saying that he's talking out of his ass. Shows like this were a big draw in Australia because any wrestling show featuring some major US talent were very far and few between.

What the fuck is Hiroyoshi Tenzan doing behind commentary on the second show, talk about random shit. Also I remember watching that bananas in pajamas show as a kid, hadnt thought about it in 20 years. Never forgot that theme song tho. Post WCW wrestling is such a fascinating period. All these companies popping up trying really hard to be the next WCW/WWF/ECW, sometimes all at once. Definitely continue with this series.

I think heard somewhere that Vince McMahon was offering a "pennies on the dollar" deal to any of the then-now ex-WCW talent that were still under contract to sign with the fed. Something along the lines of a buyout with remainder of the AOL-Time Warner contract salary now being a percentage of the original amount in the form a signing bonus. Some known talent accepted this awful deal (mostly mid-card talent) such as Buff Bagwell who was fired not long after joining promotion.

I dont think the crowd knew Shark Boy (im certain they didnt) but he has a gimmick that instantly gets over. He is what is missing from modern wrestling. When i first heard about TNA after not watching wrestling since shortly after wcw closed it was Shark Boy and Abyss as guys that stood out to me and sounded interesting, with WWF already going the way of generic boring guys like Orton and dumb kiddy gimmicks like Cena. Honestly seeing a minor federation in the UK you accept anyone you know as a main eventer. Gangrel has main evented a million UK events! This show was absolutely packed with stars tbf. WCW was easier to access in the UK due to not requiring a Sky Sports sub so WCW guys would be extremely known, just as TNA was bigger here than WWF. I think its clear that this promotion is what birthed TNA so actually is extremely important to wrestling. Some of the early tna feuds even came from here. Has Jarrett ever talked about how WWA led to TNA and said if he would have started TNA without this? The midgets knew what the joke was and weren't offended, its stupid to be offended for them. When this was made the people getting offended were seen as over sensitive and pathetic. Nowadays we have been tricked that people getting offended on behalf of others is something we have to take seriously, while genuinely important economic issues are ignored. 🤔
