Glad she received this in her final years and while she is still alive. We all still watch all those Jefferson's and 227 episodes like they were new. Her legacy will be here even when she is no longer with us. I hope she is able to live the rest of years comfortably.

The ceremony becomes quite lackluster when you realize that all they have to do for the star is pay for it
@greeneyez64823 жыл бұрын
That's not all they have to do if it was all these ego Maniacs would have stars all up and down the street there would be no more room in Hollywood. And blacks would have more stars so that's a dumb statement paying is one part of it but not the only part of it

No one pimped " Black Life" greater than Norman Lear. SMH..... he turned "Maude's" maid into her own show to showcase her sad story (Good Times).....and then named it "Good Times".. there was nothing ever "Good" about living in the projects in Chicago.
@cynthianaylor95143 жыл бұрын
Guess you never watched the show. Listen to the title song. They didn't paint it as rainbows and lollipops.

@@cynthianaylor9514 I never NOT watched the show. Our lives were not as dreary as they were portrayed. Images of us have always been downplayed, that’s why many of us don’t know we were born Royal, because they only show one side of existence. I personally am tired of the media’s portrayal of generational poverty. Thank God for the “Huxtables”. Diahann Carroll said the same thing after she filmed Claudine. Then your children stay in the projects abs even bring their spouses there after the parents are gone. Horrible presentation of black life. Horrible. But that’s what made the ratings. I choose to love above the circumstance which have been created for us to continually decline. I definitely watched the show, that’s why I asserted my analysis.
@theologicallife.....11033 жыл бұрын
@@seanmetro3496 no one made more money than him in any of his series about us, and research why Esther Rolle kept turning done the Good Times script initially…. Because he wouldn’t give her a father or a husband for her children. They finally killed him off anyway. Everything about us isn’t entertaining, for some of this is our lives.
