It’s not that you need the degree to be successful, it’s more about the low numbers of Latinos in higher education which make differences in jobs that may not be related to “social media” Think about if there were more Latino doctors there would be less disparities for marginalized folks in the medical industry. This affects us all even if you think it doesn’t, because who are your doctors, your parent’s doctors, etc?? Who are those making policies?? It still affects us as a community because there is not much representation of Latinos in higher education which affects our lives sometimes through constructive practices that limit Latinos overall. Just something to think about, and yes you don’t need a degree to have a good life or live your best life, but overall less representation of Latinos in higher Ed means disparities for the Latino community.
