Marlin Fishing - Nationals 2024, New Zealand

After a successful first Marlin trip for 2024 Myself and Anton were joined by a new set of mates on board Valhalla for the Nationals where we steamed once again from Nelson to Raglan to chase Marlin. With a hot bite our expectations were high and it's safe to say everyone on board was fizzing for this trip.
Joining us for this adventure was Ben, Chris, Jared and Roger which was their first time on board this weapon of a fishing vessel. Our first full day up off Raglan didnt disappoint with 8 bites and 3 hook ups but they didnt stick. After a bit of bad weather we ended up having to head back to New Plymouth for some shelter and managed to spend a few days fishing around there with a couple of bites and hook ups but again luck wasn't on our side. Finally there was another window to get back out wide which our luck finally turned around and we managed to make one stick but dropped him on the leader. even though its classed as a caught fish it felt like a dropped one to us all but this was an incredible week on board Valhalla with some absolute legends.
