Next time instead of the LED connected directly to the battery, try using the ball bearings as a way to complete the circuit. I imagine LED connected to the positive side of the battery, but both negatives extend down to the weight transfer chamber. You wouldn't need anything fancy, maybe some thin wires and aluminum foil as contacts. When the lead ball comes forward it touches both contacts completing the circuit and the light goes on. It's basically like putting a switch in there. move the weight backwards to break the circuit.

To make a summary of different ideas, a few improvements : - rechargeable CR2032, each pole connected to a ring for the hooks, to allow easy charge. - a magnetic switch normally closed, so when you don't use the bait you open the circuit with a magnet. - I also suggest a miniature disco ball :)
@drunkdogartwork40162 жыл бұрын
that would work perfectly and i would suggest a green led, we use green for bait lights for a reason
@nalinux2 жыл бұрын

You could make the battery rechargeable and connect alligator clips to the screw eyes to charge it. This is what many of the current electronic lures use.
@pinduckyfarms47482 жыл бұрын
If you use stainless wire, you can charge a rechargable battery by having the wire poke out side the bait. You could even use the line ties as the charging circuit. A buzz bait blade would work realy well as a rotory switch, making a flashing bait.

@@petersmith6974 lol what? You can't catch a laser. I'm guessing you have a keychain with some kind of radioactive material in it
@PaperScarecrow2 жыл бұрын
@@petersmith6974 The tritium tubes are a bit of mildly radioactive material in a glass tube with a phosphorous coating (which lights up when hit by radioactive particles), they glow a dull green (or other colors if the phosphorus is dyed) and are often used on premium pistol night sights. Possibly the same thing you're talking about, tritium tubes don't use laser light though.

Get a rechargeable 2032 battery and possible make your center line a small wire so that you can make that into a small wireless charger receiver so you can just drop your bait on a wireless charger Then you program an ardruino to change the color of the eyes to tell you your battery life. Or you can make a push in/screw in (like a cheap laser pointer) batter pack where your weights should go so that you can easily pop in new batteries

You could have left one wire connected to the battery then the other one had it go from the battery to the outside of the finished bait and the one from the light to the outside of the finished bait then it would be off when out of the water it would be off but once it is in the water the water would make the connection between the two wires and the light would come on.
