Every version of a song only needs to be it's own. I love to use MCR's Cancer as an example. The original has a very specific emotion it's going for, anger and bitterness not ready to let go. It excels at this. While the 21 pilots version makes it about resigning, accepting one's fate, not having energy to protest anymore. And it also excels at this. Each version is incredible to listen to and feel. Same as this.

She can sing well, but she changed the song completely and it isn't the same at all and doesn't have the same impact as the original. I feel she should have sung something else more meant for her voice. It pretty much had no flow to the song the way it was sung and no rhythm. Even if others say she didn't ruin the song I think she did by not keeping with the original tempo. You can speed it up and slow it down but when you don't end on the same lines that make up the flow it's pretty much not correctly covering the song.
