They're giving her the wrong songs, making her sing things she wouldn't choose herself. You can see it all over Stefan's face, commentary, and intonation of his response. He's praising her because he knows she DOES have talent and has many years to mature as a 14 year old. He just misses the girl he saw at that first audition singing her rendition of yesterday, a song she loves. I do as well. That special touch is missing.
