What made Marlon Brando so charismatic was the fact that he was so true to himself. An authentic person who didn't care to fit in and live by the norms of society. I believe that this made him a loner at heart.. especially when we consider the industry he was working for. It takes guts to be like that,..to stand alone and not give a crap.
@alimasoumy30315 жыл бұрын
Only very very successful people have this luxury.
@TheMenghi15 жыл бұрын
Actually, he had a lot of charism, but he was an extremely flawed and narcissistic. I don't think he cared much for any semblance of normalcy.
@williamclark79695 жыл бұрын
Rather than crediting 'guts', Brando mentions that being wealthy enough to retire is what allowed him to 'stand alone and not give a crap'. He began to develop those traits as a child, while his absentee traveling-salesman father pursued money, alcohol, and women in parts unknown. Certainly, his mother and sister gave him some measure of emotional support. But, when left to his own devices, he learned to entertain himself with jokes and comic routines based on his impressions of other persons' speech and manners.
@jordanjordan90225 жыл бұрын
The thing is that he did "give a crap". He was extremely sensitive and realized that being honest and real would draw huge criticism and ridicule on himself, but he did it anyway. He was courageous and showed great integrity, all the more so considering his sensitivity.

Marlon Brando was one of the greatest actors and activists we have seen since the 60's and we need him more than ever now. Mr. Brando was a real human being who had compassion for all people and helped the Native Americans. He boycotted the 1973 Oscars and allowed Sacheen Littlefeather to speak on his behalf while exposing the bad treatment of American Indians in the Movie Industry.Marlon Brando was much more intelligent than his scripts allowed him and was pure Genius. What an interesting life he had and history he left us. Research Marlon Brando. God Bless him! See other interviews by Larry King as well. (Movies: Mutiny of the Bounty, Sayonara, Missouri Breaks, Godfather, etc.. are just a few of his greats)

The "host" is not just bad...He is lousy. At a loss for words. Not entirely genuine, affected and not interesting. He would have never made it in the 1990s. And that's the great Dick Cavett. If there are two hundred people in a room and one of them doesn't like me, I've got to get out." He is an highly sensitive person and those persons are very often misunderstood so i'm not surprised that some saw him as weird. Now i have to look for more Marlon Brando movies, just seen Godfather, Apocalypse Now and some romance movie from the 70s.

Hi! Im called Filip too! Certainly a fascinating person/figure. Remarkable and genuine actor I guess. Sometimes ppl want you to give more than you have as reserves, I think thats very tiring that they have a certain expectation of you, and if you really want to play a role correctly, really live inside that role to become that character, you need to be able to master your emotions, but when you play another role as an actor they still have that same expectation of you, that everything needs to be a little masterpiece, when sometimes an imperfection is better. You somehow need to mask the sensitivity I guess, or they get on to you. I do it to alot while im not even an important, not even a person of significance, I tend to be harder and look stronger and in the eye of beholder charismatic, and when Im on my own i can let go of that mask. I guess a lot of people get this way when folks ask a certain thing of you, over and over and over again. You need to overcompensate to show you can cope with given duties/obligations, to tend to being able to work harder, going across your own boundaries while noone or sometimes yourself cant notice it when you get into so called modus yourself as a person. I recognize this enormously! Sheer pressure aiming for perfection and expectation make you a product of the way you were before as a person, an individual tends to change him/herself into the more popular version! Greetings from another Filip! I dont see many online, or wherever on the world. Enough phil's or phillip philip written with ph, but almost none with an F like in our/my own case. Belgian king is called it, lol a lot of royals are being named Filip or the version with Ph. But i reckon its a dutch/belgian thing, or some people of eastern europe perhaps? Balkan/polish ukranian or former yugoslav ppl there are still alot being named statistically/percentually! Not much Filip's with an F left!

Funny thing is I'm a straight guy and that is literally the first thing I thought when he sat down and they did a close up shot of Marlon. "Goddamn that guy is incredibly good looking." The balding head literally does NOTHING to detract from his looks, which is crazy.

He actually believed in equality, long before it became a fashionable and politically correct currency.
