@@jared2246 To me it means that you live with emotional baggage, past failures, etc. that can hold you back or make you feel like you're not in control (a passenger). When you realize you're in control of your life (the pilot in control of the plane) you can move forward. It's an airplane metaphor; carry-on baggage, pilot, then the next line he says "I'm looking in the mirror on some _fly_ shit". That's how I took it anyway.
