Bill, your knowledge of a boat's mechanical and electrical operation and how pertinent it is for a new owner is superb. Understanding how the various systems work and knowing when they will require replacement or maintenance is incredibly relevant. I also agree that having crew space is a necessity. Some people live at Marina's on their boat but others like to move. Thank you for sharing your amazing expertise.

Great great job on boat tour. Awesome beautiful family type boat. I love everything on it. Perfect vacation or live aboard for a small family. I really liked the master bedroom and then you showed us the kids room and that curved wall for the stairs on the bed, that wood work was truly beautiful and I loved to see craftsmanship in today's time when Alot of people don't care about doing a nice job. I worked in construction and I seen great work and not great by people who didn't care. Since I was the job foreman, those who didn't care I didn't keep long. Those who had pride in their work they got paid great an received what I would call extras. I can tell the people who built this beautiful boat had pride in their hands that touched this boat. From the wood working, to the wiring and whole engine room. Well worth the money buddy. I bet someone who can afford it will get it soon. You did a great job with this tour. You get 5 stars or rather 5 gold anchors.

Great video, very educational. One thing I don't see mentioned in yacht videos, is the mention of Planned Maintenance Systems, which will track what maintenance needs to be done and when. Time and time again I see yacht youtubers complaining about things breaking, but when asked what sort of PMS they use, they just say, I don't need that. Seems kinda silly to me.
@bilthomaslistings5 ай бұрын
The systems exist and in the airplane world the FAA makes sure it happens. Most owners just don't feed the data to such systems. The work gets done in a boat yard or by a traveling mechanic and the step of recording what these vendors do in a central log rarely happens. I often recreate something for a new buyer / Owner form a stack of emails or paper receipts. The data is there - a work order was approved and a bill was paid.
@lilricky25155 ай бұрын
@@bilthomaslistings Yeah, in the airplane world its required. Just think its silly that yacht owners wouldn't want to use a PMS to eliminate or at least negate alot of issues/problems.

2,000 + going slow (8 knots) as you speed up that decreases fast. She burns about 15 GPH total at 9.3-9.5 knots. That is where I run a lot. 7-8 feels slow; 9.x and the bow starts to rise and she digs in a bit and everything is great. 20 is great if you don't mind the fuel cost.

Great job, but you did not show the transition walking from one area to another. Where are the stairs? You did not show any of that. How to get to the staterooms? Would be so much better if you if you did not cut the video when transitioning to different areas. No sense of the flow, just, ok here we are in this room or that.

Would love to see a deep dive on those Marlow prop shafts, like from a boat on stands. Cutlass bearings driven into fiberglass mounts just make me cringe. Why? If a ball breaks in bahamas (nah, never happens) and you get dumped on the beach, I'd love to see a boat that doesn't total. insurance wise. A boat should be able to withstand that event within reason, IMO, and not have the friggin shaft mashed into the hull at the cutlass bearing mounts.
@JJP720955 ай бұрын
No cutlass bearing with the Sea Torque system
@bilthomaslistings5 ай бұрын
as they said above there is no cutlass bearing or dripless shaft seal in this boat. Its a stainless shaft inside and oil filled tube with bearing races and a cooler. Not all Marlow's are built this way - it is up the the customer at build time. Oil filled, thrust bearing only, or conventional shaft. What is best - that is the right question - it depends on use. If you want the AMG solution its the Sea Torque, if you are going to brazil stay conventional so you can maintain it. I only make a recommendation after really talking to the client and understanding the use of the boat.
@jksmithiii5 ай бұрын
@@bilthomaslistings Thanks Bill, how much of that shaft is exposed?
@gfroese47995 ай бұрын
Nice boat but 200 hour oil changes? Heck that is a waste of oil, or the wrong grade of oil is being used . Spent many years as a commercial marine engineer and most 40 to 15 KW gen sets are 400 hours. Of course maybe they are building weak engines.
@bilthomaslistings5 ай бұрын
In a commercial application the C-18 would be rated and 600HP or something like that instead of 1,000 or 1,150 and the oil change interval would be less. These E rated engines in pleasure craft are high output and the service intervals are shorter. Probably similar gallons of fuel through the engine (or work) in either case.

The US military depends on “star linc” in Ukraine. Funny that no?
@williamthomas90494 ай бұрын
I understand the politicians in Brazil wanted it off and then realized their military was dependent on it as well. Direct to space bypasses a lot of government and university based internet infrastructure. Watch the starlink direct to cell technology next. The controllers are loosing control and I think it is a good thing.

Note to you for future presentations: - have the videographer focus on the boat not you, it is not helpful and makes folks quit watching the video. - This is completely choppy, viewers can’t get a good sense of layout and flow with these segmented and unconnected segments. - If you are good at selling boats, do it with customers with you. Hire a good narrator with a personality and a professional videographer not your brother-in-law.

I find this very interesting as well. My most often observed conclusion goes like this, man says we don’t need two toilets in the master, the lady of the yacht quickly interjects “oh yes we do” after further discussion it is often revealed that the second toilet is not that important, but she wants her side with her stuff, counter space, storage lockers, etc. everyone is different that is why we build to order, and for what it costs to get a high end yacht like this you should get exactly what you want.
