The way Kate shakes her hair out and then immediately turns directly facing Marlowe, with that little musical flourish, has a sort of DOS game charm to it.

The reason it’s not on iPlayer is because it’s (a) clever, (b) popular, and most importantly (c) funny.

I always thought "sirrah" was derogatory ...?

I was thinking the same, but this is the first hit on google "used as a term of address for a man or boy, especially one younger or of lower status than the speaker."

Diminutives can certainly be derogatory

Context is king. It's similar to the way in Australia a group of people may refer to each other by a certain word beginning with 'c', if they are comfortable enough with it.

I'm Canadian and only watching this in snippets; how on earth did Kate become interested in Marlow?
@kimyoonmisurnamefirst70612 жыл бұрын
Kate teaches Marlowe Italian in preparation for his journey to Verona. And because they speak a different language together, they fall for each other. Marlowe never married in history and no one knows any of his lovers, so people think he was gay, though, so the show lampoons this by making off-handed remarks that Marlowe likes "both" and switches lovers frequently.

@@alexbruckshaw1448 Well Alex By the 23rd century, the entire Solar System and surrounding interstellar neighbourhood is being transformed by an ever-expanding sphere of influence produced by massive levels of artificial intelligence. It totally dominates Earth now, with every aspect of world affairs controlled by superintelligent entities, formed of billions of inorganic minds working in unison. These "Artilects" operate at speeds and scales that would be incomprehensible to observers from earlier centuries. Global issues that persisted for years or decades in the past can now be resolved on timescales measured in hours, minutes or even less.
