In the 2010s(Domestically a good decade for the US) since things got way better, pop music started to sound more generic with time. But 2010s were the golden decade of indie music.

@TheDonaldduck9119 жыл бұрын
WhiteGuyFromCincy Well I don't quiet believe that but even if it's true, every band goes through changes and Maroon 5 is certainly no exception and certainly you cannot expect them to stay the same forever. They are not music machines designed the only fit one style, they are real people that evolve, just like everyone else. I would agree with the entire "I don't like them cuz they're not the same" argument if adam and/or the entire M5 went full miley cirus but that's obviously not the case, in fact, Adam is happily married now after years of dating a new model every month. The truth is; times change and people do so as well. "none of their songs now have real instruments". That's simply not true, and most M5 (recent) songs can be played with an acoustic guitar alone and sound even better, in fact that's what they do a lot of times when they play live and still sound great. M5 (relatively) recent songs that still have their original style: My Heart is Open Sex and Candy Lost Stars Wasted Years (written back in Songs about Jane days, but published till 2012) Beautiful Goodbye Let's Stay Together
@negativelyevil9 жыл бұрын
Gerardo Montalvo i dont think they suck because they changed their sound. I think they suck because they use their status as a band as a thin veneer to keep us from noticing how they no longer compose music themselves, how now, more than ever, Adam has completely engulfed the spotlight, and how the use if actual instrumentation in their music is dwindling into nothing. Venturing into pop isn't bad, but you should do it on your own terms and through your own merits.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying they prefer the early Maroon 5 more than the later version. It's because when they first burst onto the scene, their music had a lot more funk and soul to it, then it became more pop as the years progressed. The latter songs were still good, but the sound changed to appeal more to the mainstream and the trends of the time.

funny tho cause many comments complain and say "back to when they were good" and yeah their style changed but most of their hits always have been literally pop or with pop influences. Maybe with time the funk sound and all became less and less present but a bit of pop always has been there. Maybe people are actually complaining about their songs cause they liked faster ones like this one while lately they're making slower songs like Middle Ground. I feel like they got a more mainstream sound some years ago tho and now are getting back to something more unique.

You don’t have to if you don’t want to it’s your choice. If you do please pray he will always be open to hear your prayer. Luke 15:7 “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” May God bless God loves and I love you. It kinda makes me sad going back to these old songs and then just seeing their new releases just being subpar or remixes of their stuff from 2013 onwards. I didn’t grow up with this song or any of their other stuff from the 2000’s but I get why people miss songs like this from them, different vibes and all.

Lyrics I wake up, with blood-shot eyes Struggled to memorize The way it felt between your thighs Pleasure that made you cry Feels so good to be bad Not worth the aftermath, after that After that Try to get you back I still don't have the reason And you don't have the time And it really makes me wonder If I ever gave a fuck about you Give me something to believe in 'Cause I don't believe in you Anymore, anymore I wonder if it even makes a difference to try Yeah, so this is goodbye God damn, my spinning head Decisions that made my bed Now I must lay in it And deal with things I left unsaid I want to dive into you Forget what you're going through I get behind; make your move Forget about the truth I still don't have the reason And you don't have the time And it really makes me wonder If I ever gave a fuck about you Give me something to believe in 'Cause I don't believe in you Anymore, anymore I wonder if it even makes a difference It even makes a difference to try (yeah) And you told me how you're feeling But I don't believe it's true Anymore, anymore I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry (Oh no) So this is goodbye I've been here before One day I'll wake up And it won't hurt anymore You caught me in a lie I have no alibi The words you say don't have a meaning 'Cause... I still don't have the reason And you don't have the time And it really makes me wonder If I ever gave a fuck about you and I... And so this is goodbye Give me something to believe in 'Cause I don't believe in you Anymore, anymore I wonder if it even makes a difference It even makes a difference to try And you told me how you're feeling But I don't believe it's true Anymore, anymore I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry (Oh no) So this is goodbye So this is goodbye, yeah So this is goodbye, yeah So this is goodbye, yeah

I remember back before Hands All Over came out listening to this on the radio and thinking this was not only the ideal song but band as well. Not that Hands All Over was a bad follow up, but man the shit they put out after that (and yeah I’m looking at you Payphone) just wasn’t the same. It’s like they sold a piece of their identity in order to become something they weren’t. This was like easy listening pop with elements of jazz, and now we have Jordi which is a whole different pond to swim in. Gosh, I love to hate how this song/era brings back all these beautiful yet grievous memories. Stay true to yourselves young ones.

This album is my all-time favorite Maroon 5 album...I loved all the songs. Interesting music video concept. Maroon 5 videos are good about showing the lead singer, Adam Levine, and all the other band members. I don't always see that happen with other band's music videos. Maroon 5's sound has evolved with each album but they continually prove how they've matured as musicians. I might have favorite albums but I will always love Maroon 5 regardless. They truly have talent and don't need hype to make them remain relevant.
@coffeeandtv593810 жыл бұрын
It is indeed interesting how you use the word "evolution" to describe the band trayectory. Because, to me, Maroon 5 passed out to be "Adam Levine and his band". Anyway, their different albums are somehow connected but the first album (Songs about Jane) seems to be more "creative" than the last... which sounds like pre-manufactered pop.

Everyone says their new albums are too poppy, etc. and they will be popular regardless the genre they do. That is false. What keeps Maroon 5 relevant is their adaptability. They are willing to change with the times to stay relevant - That's what they credit their success to. It's not "selling out," it's just "keeping up." They're still managing their success by their own standards - Nobody else is telling them what to do. The truth is, when Songs About Jane came out, it was criticized. It was criticized for being too different, too awkward, too weird. Only later did it come to be known as iconic. Overexposed and V too will be iconic in another 15 years, just as Songs About Jane is today. The best part is changing genres and being versatile gives them a large variety of fans - especially the ones who appreciate their new and old music.
