Beauty queen of only eighteen She had some trouble with herself He was always there to help her She always belonged to someone else I drove for miles and miles And wound up at your door I've had you so many times But somehow I want more I don't mind spendin' everyday Out on your corner in the pourin' rain Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay a while And she will be loved And she will be loved Tap on my window, knock on my door I want to make you feel beautiful I know I tend to get so insecure Doesn't matter anymore It's not always rainbows and butterflies It's compromise that moves us along, yeah My heart is full, and my door's always open You come anytime you want, yeah I don't mind spendin' everyday Out on your corner in the pourin' rain Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay awhile And she will be loved And she will be loved And she will be loved And she will be loved I know where you hide alone in your car Know all of the things that make you who you are I know that goodbye means nothing at all Comes back and makes me catch her every time she falls Yeah Tap on my window, knock on my door I want to make you feel beautiful I don't mind spendin' everyday Out on your corner in the pourin' rain, oh Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay awhile And she will be loved And she will be loved And she will be loved And she will be loved Please don't try so hard to say goodbye I don't mind spendin' everyday Out on your corner in the pourin' rain Please don't try so hard to say goodbye

In reality, "someone else" was a symbol, a very ironic one. Adam and his ex-gf Jane (who the album is made for) broke up because he was at the beginning of his career, which took up a lot of his time, while Jane was also beginning her career in fashion. Both needed that support but they couldn't give it to each other. "This Love" was actually written during the week she moved out of their place. Jane Herman Bishop went on to become a successful Vogue editor and now own a clothing business while Adam is one of the greatest pop stars.

"Look for the girl with a broken smile." I am sixteen and I have a Bell's Palsy that's why I cannot smile the same anymore. It is getting me depressed. I can't help to be sad about it. And then I came to KZbin to vibe some songs so that I can forget what I am going through and then that line came up. It automatically made me happy and really felt positive about overcoming this condition. Then and now I will listen to this song so I can still feel motivated coz its really making me depressed. I hope I get well soon and I hope its not permanent.

Hey I had bells palsey when I was 16, now I'm nearly 20 and my smile isn't back to normal but it's getting there. Word of advice, if you got it still just take it easy, don't stress and I recommend massaging the side of your face that is affected every couple hours. There are videos on KZbin showing how to massage your face with your condition. It will help your smile improve. God bless you.

I think I finally realise what this video is about. The older lady and young lady are both the same person. They are young and in love at first, but then this love fades and he ends up being neglecting and abusive toward her. The story is that as a young man he never thinks this could happen to him. He thinks he will always have the same passion and care for her. The last scene she looks at him at thinks ‘how could this be what we end up as. How could you do this to me in the future’
