Watching this brought me a great joy I cannot express. As a teenager I worked summers mowing grass at St. James cemetery where apparently the Voyageurs stopped to hold mass or eat a possum or something. I have also canoed the Des Plaines River for decades---and now live in Channahon--which means "Where the waters meet"--the confluence of the Illinois, Dupage, Kankakee, and Desplaines rivers--rich with native American history and certainly a stopping point for the explorers. Look forward to part 2

Thank you E.J. ~ Both Tom and I watched the story, the Journey of Marquette together. What beautiful illustrations and the Tiffany etchings!! Quite an arduous and determined voyage this was. Your story-telling voice and intonations was riveting ~ Our Love and Thanks for your detailed research and the telling of this Journey. Tom & Beanie Medlicott

Merci pour cette vidéo. Très intéressant. On comprend mieux la toponymie de cette région des États-Unis. 👍

I guess if they were just looking around and not really trying to hornswoggle the people that were already living there…it would still be an amazing trip to take today!
