For what it's worth, to this day I still have an "official" songbook of that CSN album from back in the day, and it says C G x3 (not C G Am G C G) in the chorus. Something like: Intro: G/D(D@7)-G5/D(xx078-10) Dm7(D@5)-Dm9(xx0560) x2; Verses: G/D Dm9 Dm7, G/D Dm9 [or simpler "campfire chords here: G Dm7 x2] Em A7 C*(x32030) D-Ds4-D-Ds2; Chorus: C G x3, Em A7 C-D-G, Extra: All on board: Dm7 G x2; Bridge: Bm G G/F# E C; Verse 3; Chorus x2; Extra; Coda: Dm9 or just Dm7

“Official” song books aren’t worth much, in my opinion. But play it however you hear it.

@@jamesjames9275 I agree, JJ. In my youth, before KZbin and other internet resources to help me learn songs (like your fantastic channel here), I had to take what I could find--like fellow guitar-playing pals and the occasional songbook. Perhaps like you, I found over the years that most songbooks to be pretty simplistic, and for many that's okay. But some have some sour-sounding chords/arrangements. Ouch to my ears! (A rare exception is Milton Okun's 1981 two-volume "The Compleat Beatles"; it's a superb songbook that I still reference today.

Anyway, I believe that the cowboy chords suggested in my initial post above can sound pretty good playing guitar, sitting around a campfire with friends.... and we all shine on...
