I LOVED BOTH PODCAST! I laughed on both and agreed with you on all the topics. I been married ten years and the number one problem we had at the start of our marriage was finances and getting to the root of our problem was how we were raised. I say this all the time my husband doesn’t make friends AT ALL! Married ones are hard for the both of us and like Marcus and Angel everyone that was married around us is now divorced,single or in a relationship that we can’t connect with. Thanks y’all this was very fun to watch.

Friendship are different when your other friend is married n have kids. Some of my married friends have neverrr invited me to their kids Bday parties, graduation etc. It hurts. I'm happy for them, but it hurts. I don't think if the situation was different that I would've excluded them from celebrating any of my kids events. Such is life.

I think the 1k for emergency fund is the starter not you save only 1k for emergency and that's it. Some people have a hard time saving that amt while others can save way more than that with no effort. So he encourages saving at least 1k as a starter emergency fund

He separates emergency fund and living expenses, but he also recommends increasing the $1000 emergency fund when you reach the point where you can.

I loved this topic. My hubby and I are the same as as gabe & Chad which he always shares a bday with lol but we have been married 17years with two teen boys our relationship is not perfect as no one's is but we are a solid God fearing couple. We stay to ourselves and keep people out of our marriage and that means family too! I think that has been one of the many things that keeps us successful as a young black couple.

Savings make no money find a way to invest your money. Emergency fund should be $5000 to $10,000. Or you should have at least 6 months of savings in your emergency fund to pay all your bills for six months..

Great conversation. I definitely need to check out their podcast. On the subject of joint bank accounts in your marriage. It really can work. My husband & I have separate accounts and we agreed upon an amount to be deposited from our paychecks into those accounts. All other money goes into our joint account where we pay bills and other household needs. The money in our separate accounts are for us to spend how we wish, but we are also willing to use it for unexpected emergencies like this pandemic is necessary. It’s all about working toward a common goal.
