What is a Dinner Table Conversation?
When we think of military decisions we think of the life-and-death moments on the battlefield or calculated plans made by leaders in war rooms.
However, the decisions made around the dinner tables of military families are just as vital and have a direct impact on recruitment and retention. Dinner Table Conversations bring the experts, military families, to the table to get to the heart of the issues they face.
It is important to note that this is not a typical Town Hall. It is a REVERSE Town Hall, call it an interview or a Conversation, the purpose is to learn from you, the expert on your own situation.
Who Gets a Seat at the Table?
Everyone.
Military spouses are the experts in the military family experience. So, why do they go to town halls and ask questions of leaders when it’s the leaders who should be asking the questions?
These Conversations are focused on military family experiences and are informed by guests with resources to share to inform the Conversation. (advocates, nonprofits, DoD and Congress).
What Will We Talk About?
The topics that impact military readiness and retention through the lens of the military family to:
Better understand family decision making
Support families through existing issues
