We have to provide earbuds every year for our kids here in Indiana. I’m thinking your supply list is asking for actual earbuds.. like headphones.. not earplugs. But maybe I’m wrong lol

Growing up my family couldn't provide some supplies for me or my sibling and while we were always grateful for what we had it was hard to know we were missing some things. So now as an adult and parent I buy all the supplies and more because I want my children to be fully prepared for whatever the teacher has planned for their school year. I love your channel. My son's school started supplying a planner in 6th grade. It was specific to the school with school events already marked for them. It was AWESOME! They also worked with them to educate them on how to use the planner.

I’m lucky my son still has his school supplies from 2019 and the only thing I had to buy was cleaning supplies for the class which I got at Sams. I’m going to get him a couple more mask cause he’s not old enough for the shot yet and new clothes that’s it

If you use Ibotta they have several school items from Target or Walmart where you get the money back, so free supplies. I know Ticonderoga pencils were on the list and a Five Star notebook. Even if you didn't need it, you could donate it. I plan to go next week and we are done with school. :)

I’ve yet to start our back to school shopping, since they’ve not updated our school supplies list. As far as the plastic folders, we have to buy those and I’ve had no problems writing their names on them with a regular sharpie. Same with the pencil box. If you have a cricut you can make their names or Monograms for them.

There is a difference in quality and they want all the kids to have the same type of sturdiness and durability...number of pages...type of cover...even size so it fits

I haven't started back to school shopping yet but my younger daughters are both in high school so the teachers tell them on the first day of school what they'll need. I do plan on getting paper,composition notebooks and binders beforehand, since those can be hard to find once school opens....Loved your Dollar Tree supplies and Walmart. You're right,sometimes Walmart and Target have items for less than a dollar.

I love back to school shopping! It gets me excited for the upcoming school year. I have 2 kids, 1 in kindergarten and the other going to 2nd grade so i saved my daughters kindergarten list so i could shop for my son this year. I will be donating as many supplies to the school as i can. I would suggest adding disposable masks to the donation list.

I use a label maker to label my daughters plastic folders, and any other school supplies. I prefer the plastic folders over the paper ones because I feel like the paper folders just do not hold up as well.

I'm so glad someone else frets about sizes and amounts of supplies and what they cost each. I do buy supplies too when they are on sale after school starts. It was rewarding how much I didn't have to buy due to my stash. And I'm not ashamed that I have scouted lists for the next grade if I see a good sale. 🤣 I may not have anything else together but I sure have extra school supplies. It is my favorite thing to shop for!! I already have everything in boxes and labeled. 😁

Maybe you can find 6 inch rulers at a craft store like Joanna or Michaels? They carry all size rulers for paper rafting and sewing/quilting. Worth a shot .

Walmart has the red pencils by dixion they may have been out. Office supply store should have them as well. They have an eraser on them like a regular pencil just red lead

We don’t go back until mid August but yes I guess if you consider 6 composition notebooks supplies then yes I’ve started! Lol Overall I have a lot to get clothes shoes supplies lunch bag etc but I’ll get it done! After a year and a half of distant learning I’m nervous how my child will adjust and how he will do back in that environment. He’s done great at home with online instruction and me supporting him all A’s but I’m nervous but like I tell him I got you…we’ll work it out! Thanks for taking us shopping with you!! Coweta County goes back on Aug. 5th! And yes, summer just flew by!! One thing I'm curious about...over 2/3rds of my county taxes say it's for the schools, so why are parents having to buy so much for them?! I've never had a child in GA schools, so I'm just floored you're having to buy so much!

My oldest child graduated from high school in 2019; my middle child graduated in 2020. I am so excited that my youngest child will start high school.Michael will be a ninth grader ; this summer he did weight lifting for football. I purchased his uniform shirts, shorts, and pants at JCPenney's a few weeks ago. Some of his shirts and pants were ordered online since the store didn't have enough shirts and pants in the store. Yesterday, I purchased his school supplies at Walmart. He just need another pair of shoes since he has a new pair from April that he barely wears.

Usually those rulers have holes to go in binders. I never liked the flex ones and my kids say they bend out of shape😒I use Sharpies on the plastic 👍🏼

Great video. Just a heads up teachers usually prefer the pencil sharpeners that catch the shavings. I couldn't quite tell if that's the kind you bought at Dollar Tree. Try the Mabel's labels or if you know someone with a cricut they can make labels for the items you can't write on. I literally have the same set of Mabel's labels that I bought when she was in preschool. She is heading to 7th grade and her thermos still has the same label on it.

i work for the doe, the district supply us with wipes masks and hand santizers. teachers have donor choice where they can order extra stuff for the students. The school has a budget to order all school supplies foe every student.

You are lucky! Here in the states it’s completely different especially in big cities (I am from NYC). Taxes are sky high and we always get list of school supplies we need to get. It sucks that teacher’s salary is so low considering how much they do. I always buy everything on the list and at times a little more because I know some families can’t afford it.

I've sent in supplies and the special folder for my kid was given to another. They ended up passing the supplies out to all the kids. Let's just say that I had a unhappy little person getting in the car that first day of school. I went back to try to find another folder and they were all gone. If you purchase special items be sure to put your kids name on them.

I’m a teacher in Canada & NO WAY would we be able to ask for many of these things. Our board cant pay for the supplies, but we can’t directly ask parents to. So we have to “suggest” the basics & teachers fill in the rest from their own pocket (if possible). The difference is: if parents buy something, it is the property of their child, not put into a general pile. Ah well - we all do our best!
