My uncle is gay and my aunt, his wife, is lesbian. They were put through therapies, tortures, and exorcisms. When it failed to cure them, my aunt’s mother threatened to kill herself, and my uncle was warned he would be disowned if he didn’t see the light. At the end, their pastor found a way to get them married, saying they would find healing in each other. Under family pressure and moral kidnappings they had three kids. After they were no longer required to have kids, they simply stopped having sex. For various reasons, they never looked for other partners and remained married until my grandparents and my aunt’s mother died. We learned the whole story after my uncle said he had nothing good to say about my grandparents. According to them, they were the lucky ones because many gays and lesbians they knew had to be married to people who didn’t know about their sexual orientation.

Very compassionate interview but I don't feel sorry for this man. He made a decision to do drugs and engage in sex as a priority. The fact that he became nonproductive after these revelations is a testament to his character. He was not a provider. He was a moocher all along. His wife had a business. He had nothing. I think after years of being taken care of he did not have the courage to leave and decided he would go ahead and be the woman he had become in the marriage. In a passive aggressive move to hurt his wife and his children, he decided to be sloppy, put her at risk and let the rumors humiliate her. He probably thought his lover was going to take care of him, which is why he has been homeless nearly 20 years. He definitely needs to live in his truth...evil and worthless!
@fitgirlism30382 жыл бұрын
You are the only person who zeroed in on this. First he said, 'we' had businesses. Then the interviewer asked how much it was sold for and he then told the truth...it was HER business. I have seen a serious connection with DL men not ONLY looking for a beard to make him look normal to society, but a HARDWORKING, PROVIDER, BEARD. A woman who has way more brains and ambition than he will ever have. That way, not only does he get to look normal, he gets to be taken care of like a pansy as well. Did we ever hear what job he was holding down? All I heard was beauty salon and store. That woman of 22 years lost ALL.THE.WAY.AROUND. Look at all the ways she lost: 1) Sexually. This gay man really did not have a desire for her. He did what was expected, got some kids to look normal. But the natural desire a man has for his woman? Nope. Can you imagine what emotional abuse that was to her? 2) Financially. You got a man who is living off of your ambitions. A man on meth is not a man who is simultaneously holding down a serious job/career. Its very likely that the money pressures were almost hers alone to carry. Had he been of a productive mind, he would not be homeless now. 3) Emotionally. You got a gay man, don't know it, and can't figure out why he is not giving you emotionally what a man naturally gives a woman he loves. The self-doubt. The self-blame. 4) Socially. The shame of this man doing men and the streets knowing about it. He seems humble here...and that has people fooled. I have met many a demon who comes across deserving a bit of sympathy. But all I see is that selfishness drove this man's entire life. Any sympathy should be had for the WIFE. Not this deceitful, unambitious specimen. Trust and believe, his kids are not as neutral as he wants to posit. They likely hate his guts...which is why he is on the streets.

People can say 'it's the black communities fault' or any number of variations of that statement.While the REALITY is that may be partly true; however, THIS man is not being 100% honest. As a healthcare professional in the field of public health, I will say with HIV positive patients, I have heard it all!!! People can say what they want, but having to tell a person they are HIV positive and them knowing it was from their husband having sex with men is a PAIN you do not EVER want to hear nor experience!!! Men like this do not protect themselves. They are the great pretenders. He had a family, they were entrepreneurs, but that didn't matter to him... He is no victim. His wife and children are. Imagine the devestation he left in his wake; then he left the state for his family to deal with the aftermath of embarrassment and destruction! Him coming to ATL was very strategic on his part and we all know why... This is very sad on so many levels. I am an advocate for people who want to live in their truth. But not at the expense of a spouse, their health, or children. My apologies for the lengthy post.🙏🏾

You aren't the lie detector you don't know if he is telling the whole truth or not don't be so certain. You don't know how much he loved his wife or family. To men sex is just sex. It was just an urge. But as a woman you look at it totally different as if he did it because he didn't love his wife because that's how you would take it. All actuality, not the case at all

Well one thing I am is smart. I can detect a gay man or a straight man with gay tendencies almost instantly. I appreciate this man's honesty because there is millions living a lie. However I don't feel he should be homeless at 64. I hate he for involved with that meth. That drug right there is wiping people out left and right and I hate to even hear about it!!! It break's my heart for real. I will praying for this man and his stability. He needs a home no matter what he has done to be on the streets. No body should be hungry or homeless....nobody. even though it happens everywhere I don't wish that shyt on nobody. Thank you for hitting the streets my dude and sharing this video. He said one particular thing that stuck out to me and that should be a lesson and advice to all and that was to BE HONEST AND OPEN ABOUT ANYTHING YOU DO WITH YOURSELF AND WITH OTHERS. Right! What you mean “Just” 2 or 3??? Like damn, it’s sad how men look at cheating as no big deal yet it ruins lives even once. Then when men get cheated on or even teased in elementary they spend their lives making sure every woman pays for it. Foh

It's his drug use that took him down! It will do that no matter what your sexuality is.

Yeah, overcoming drugs abuse is a start. However, if this guy wanted a better life he would have to work towards it. He doesn't want anything better. People will be more willing to help him, when they see him trying to help himself.

It is obvious he suppressed his urges for years because a change in lifestyle rarely happens the way he he is claiming. Those urges were there but suppressed and possibly the trauma attached to it. . Trauma and suppressed feeling are almost always an event that occurred as a child. Sometimes the trauma is so severe that the brain blocks it to protect oneself. Drugs are never the real problem in one's life. Drugs are how we medicate pain and trauma. However I hope the best for this man and that he gets the help he needs to overcome his mental issues as well as his addiction.

@Kevin Harris YES. You make valid points. And there are a lot of traumatized men out here. They have been traumatized since they were little boys. They have been both physically and sexually abused by both men and women, neglected by parents, unencouraged unloved unmotivated, maligned by the public educational system that is supposed to teach them. Etc etc

That is so true. There is a lot of men in the dl. Sometimes when men get older their testesrone levels drop and the same with women their estrogen level drop. Then they become bi sexual. I am not married and the city I live in I am very reluctant to become involved with a man here out of fear he is bi sexual. There is so much of it here. Sometimes that is an avenue to transmit HIV/AIDS. So I don't even concern myself with being in a relationship. Plus I live alone and don't want to become sick. I will just wait on the the Lord.

I think his urges were always there, but because he was/is from "that" generation and, not to mention, black, he probably suppressed such urges that have always been there. I, also, think he was a down-low athlete. I had a "bi" guy tell me that once you explore a man you can't forget that feeling...
@sereneamani17132 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I've heard "hetero" guys say once you explore a woman, you can't forget that feeling. Your real point is??
@rspen21422 жыл бұрын
@@sereneamani1713 I would expect a hetero guy to only explore women. But, most consider a man who is married that messes with men, more on the bi spectrum. The fact, however, was that I was responding to the video where the interviewer asked the gentleman if he lives as a straight man or a gay man. `He said that he lived as gay... So, my current point is, that before someone responds to the comments, they need to comprehend the content of the video and how responses apply to said video!
