Hailey and I got married on June 25th last year. Since that day we often get the question, "How's married life?". So here's a little short film that answers that very question.
Inspired by the Pixar movie "UP".

@@recursion.thats only “cool” for people who are shallow and have no real depth or maturity yet. People who have really experienced life are seeking real depth with real emotions, not quick gratification that leaves one with nothing of substance after it’s over. I know this is alien to you right now, because you are inexperienced in these things, but some day, you may actually connect with another person and begin to make real memories, and you are gonna be blown away with how deeply satisfying it is, compared to the shallow and selfish rush that may have been your only source of pleasure to this point. But trust us who have gone there, the pleasure is deeper and richer than anything you can imagine compared to your experience of partying.

This is what marriage is about- living out the ins and outs of daily life, the big, the small, the mundane, the extraordinary. Your spouse will be (should be) there for you to care for you, love you, support you, help you out with slicing onions because it makes you cry... It's not the grand gestures that dictate how good your marriage will be, it's the basic, day-to-day things that speak "I love you!" that makes married life so worth it. With unrealistic expectations in our digital age, it's hard not to compare what social media posts there are about this or that cool wedding or proposal, but in reality, this is not what real life looks like... It is THIS VIDEO that truly encapsulates it. Well done, brought happy tears to my eyes. God's blessings to you both ❤️ -wife and mum (together 14 years, married for 10, 3 young kids)

What I love most about this film is that it captures what is being lost in the art of marriage. As someone who has been married for over 23years, what you learn is marriage is lived in the dull and mundane moments of life, and if you can master love in those moments, you are on to one of the secrets of marriage.

Welll. They may all move back home for five years to pay off school loans and cars, then move back during Covid 17 months, then help seventeen days after surgery this year, then stay overnite regularly to take their dad to ballgames, or visit their sister and her kids. Ummm we only had fourteen and a half months and I thought the same thing after three kids. It’s fine, companionship, but at 42 years, nothing like that young love… so don’t wish this fun time away raising kids.

Loved this. My Wife and I got married in September 2023, after 5 years of living in separate countries (Covid and that), and whilst we're still adjusting to some of the changes, I would never swap the time I spend with her in our home, for anything I've ever experienced before. The cuddles at night, the interests she pays in my sports, my video games, my tv shows. The meals we share or the walks we go on. It's like I've found a better version of myself, whom loves me, wants to help improve me whilst also supporting who I currently am, and who will continue to provide for me for the rest of time and beyond. I love you darling. Now. Tomorrow. Always. Thanks so much for putting up with my stanky bed farts.

So sweet! I’ve been married 33 years. I’m glad to see a young couple who sees marriage as a joy and not a burden. Being married is such a joy and blessing in my life. My husband and I have been together through some dark days, but so many more light filled days. ❤

Before getting married I was so freaked out by the horrid ideas that now a days are reverberated often around this topic. I used to feel it's something I am being forced to choose just because its important biologically and that I am afraid to be left alone. But after my marriage I found out its more than just a "compromise ". Its about being alive in the moment sharing your hurt and happiness, your hopes and let downs, your jogging sessions and incoherent study sessions, your weak points and your strengths and the list goes on....with a person who is genuinely interested in it. Someone is there to notice you, keep tabs of you, accompany you, cuddle you, take your advice, give weightage to your opinions, give their opinion on how you look, you walk, you talk... One cannot have the attention of the whole world ( except the lucky few like Madonna) but one can have an undivided attention of that one person who matters the most in the world. And that my friend is Marriage!😊

Feels very much akin to the opening sequence of the Pixar movie, UP. Lovely.

Thanks God, that they make this short film about marriage in a positive way. I'm tired that modern people like to make marriage in negative ways like cheating, divorce, etc. No wonder why modern day couples have higher rates in divorce. 😒

I love this portrayal of marriage. So simple and beautiful. 20 years married now and this reminds me of those first few months before our children came.

Been married for 29 years, 5 children…I can relate to this short video so much! True love is in the little things of each day and the loyalty to the promises you once made to each other.
