Haha, thanks. We got a turkey but did a baharat spice rub, and with the middle east inspiration we paired it with baharat spiced stuffing, labneh, tabouli, and hummus. We had everything on hand or in the garden and only had to spend 20$ on the bird!

As an educated black woman, many men are intimidated by our success and believe we should lower our standards, so I understand why she chose to raise her children and focus on that as well as her career, because back then and even now, we have to work twice as hard to achieve positions that people do not believe we deserve simply because we are black. So I commend her for putting herself out there again.

There's a major education, salary, etc imbalance in the AA community between men and women from what I've seen. That may just be just my experience and what I've seen, I'm African living in Canada but went to school in US. Sorry if this is offensive to anyone, feel free to educate me

This show is such a nice change after The Ultimatum. More lighthearted and more laughs. Hope it continues! I agree they should do a 40-55 age range show for the mids!

For me, spiritual but not religious means you believe in God, but you don't like organized religion. For example, you pray, but you don't go to church. It's more about belief than practice.

My daughter is 28 and married. I haven't been in a couple with her dad since 1999 but we do Christmas, birthdays, and a few family vacations all together. This includes my daughter's sister, whom I also love and adore. We play games and have a great time!

This looks so wholesome. Married at first sight was something I tried watching but found so upsetting. They were literally gaslighting people to stay on the show!!

We felt the same way! Ashley had watched it quite a few times, I only saw the most recent episodes, but the “experts” so often seemed unhealthy and manipulative

I'm so late to comment, but I enjoy the first three minutes of the video. Same as you discuss, I, also, had that thought where I was like how do they advertise or find these people who are willing to be on national TV and do blind date (no offence to anyone). Like the thought of blind dating, for me, it is not a large pool of candidates that comes in my mind (where I don't think 10K of applicants than other type of show). And between those six singles, you must find some common grounds so they can blind date each other and it doesn't go too awkward for themselves than it is with all the cameras. Like a few other commenters, I'll watch for your recap and hope you have fun watching each episode. See you soon (on another recap).☺

I'm glad you called them Gen X. Tait's Take said Boomers, and the comments went off! We do NOT like being mistaken for Boomers. Too many of us fought with Boomers and the Ilent Generation during our teen years. 😂 More than Gen X dating, I'm loving that Michelle Obama is swiping right on new job opportunities at her age. 👏

SUPER late getting to this watch, however, hoping to provide insight on the spiritual vs religious piece. Being spiritual often ( but not always) means you maintain a relationship with God (or source, a higher power, the universe etc.), so talking to or praying to God among other deities, ancestors etc. can be expected. It does not exist within the confines of religion but may borrow from many. It allows for flexibility where beliefs and practices do not align with you. As a spiritual person your “holy place” is usually yourself as opposed to a church, mosque, synagogue, temple etc. which is why meditation, yoga, breath-work, and chanting among other practices are common practice. I could go on but hope that provides enough insight!

"Ghetto" or "hood" isn't necessarily pejorative. Some black people think it's important to "remember where you came from" and "keep it real." Personally, that's a turn-off for me, but it matters to some people.
@KamandaHickey11 күн бұрын
You mean that every black person is from a ghetto ?!👀 It was very cliche and definitely pejorative.
@kthom459510 күн бұрын
I think, for some, it refers to attitude. But it’s also a big turn off to me, too.
