Sometimes you can find a case study of one on KZbin but they don’t seem to get much attention from the algorithms and it’s sad to see I remember one that was on TV back in the 2000s about a case where a older woman got pregnant and then married her 14 year old student back in the 90s and the episode was like talking about the aftermath of their relationship. This is based on a TV series called "A teacher". The tl:dr is that the teacher and the kid hook up and start a relationship that ends up with her getting caught, fired, losing her job, getting divorced and going to jail. The kid is haunted by the relationship for basically his whole college career and causes him significant personal problems with other women. When the teacher is released from jail, she has a hard time reentering society and life sucks for her because of what she did. In the end, the teacher is able to remarry and has a couple of kids. They meet one last time for lunch to try to resolve things, but end up not resolving anything with the kid still being angry about what happened and resentful.

I love that this shows this relationship negatively. Many people still think male adult+female teen=bad female adult+male teen=good. It's not. It's SA in both instances and it's wrong. Many victims don't really feel like something is wrong immediately, but as they grow up and have children of their own the trauma starts to show in their actions and mental health.

However, those people tend to think they had a majority of control over the situation and were the reason it happened, even if not in a negative light, and are protective of their assaulter because it helps their mind cope with the trauma. They don't see or understand how the adult plays the major factor into having a relationship with a child/teen. This often changes when they become parents because they are protectors and realize what they've gone through cannot be reasoned when considering their own children. They're more likely to be strict with their children by being overbearing, overprotective and controlling. Otherwise, as adults they can become withdrawn/ emotionally imbalanced or become overly sexual and look for security in their relationship. People who are abused as children/teens are more likely to have addiction problems, depression, anxiety and enter into abusive (whether physical or not) relationships as well. Read "the body keeps the score".

A lot of times teachers who switch schools a lot do so because they were forced to. This isn't always the case, but it does happen. There might be rumours going around the school, that the teacher has done something improper, but the school has no solid evidence but still finds the rumours probable. So the teacher is essentially forced to leave by making their schedule next to impossible and their ostracise them. I also know of cases where the student's family does not want to press charges because then their child would have to live with the stigma. Again with this the teacher leaves, but the new school hiring them will not know the real reason as to why they left their previous school. This could be a pattern of hers that the husband is aware of, so she lies.

Here is another reason for this teacher to be inappropriate. This teacher is also a married woman. So this teacher may use the her student is 18 to justify the sex part all she likes but it won't change the fact that she is cheating on her husband. Even if her student is a legal age or same age as her, still won't make it appropriate if she is still going to continue to be married to her husband. Since she is not even good at keeping her mouth shut about the secret relationship, she is going to end up confessing that she cheated on her husband sooner or later. That teacher needs to realize that if her affair with her student is public, then her husband should already find out. A teacher will say my student is 18 which means he has legal age to consent but then people can say to her what about your husband. I bet she never thought about that.

Here’s my unpopular opinion on this topic: if the teacher was unmarried and immediately avoided contact after the initial kiss (at least explaining the difficult situation to the principal and sought to have him moved to a different teacher/class so there would be no more inappropriate contact), she would have done the right thing. The teen boy came on to her in that kiss scene (albeit the result of raging hormones and emotions), so she didn’t have anything to hide at the time. Personally taking an opposite gender student to a university in your car was unwise, but not intentional grooming in the beginning. And I would even say she could’ve dated him AFTER he graduated from high school, if she distanced herself from him and never confessed any romantic feelings. The key here is being open, honest and understanding boundaries. She was in the wrong not just because of the covert meet ups in the beginning, but after the kiss, she made little effort to discourage his behavior and gave into his advances.

I watched the whole series, and i found a lot of people criticizing claire, and i get it, she was unhappy in her marriage and want to do crazy things, but the relationship was consensual and he was 18 when it happened(they mentioned it in the beginning), plus lets be honest, if you were ever or currently a 17-18 Highschool boy, having a sexual/romantic relationship with a hot teacher in your school is like a fantasy. I understand there are rules and moral standards for a teacher, but lets not be hypocritical, the society we live in rn is far below the moral “standpoint”, for example the LGBTQ etc, but thats a story for another day.

When it comes to student teacher relations its usually 19 in the US(the highest age of consent). Except for Texas where the law makes absolutely no sense. Long story short in Texas its sometimes possible in theory for a 25 year old teacher to get arrested if they had a relation with a 75 year old student assuming its a university in the same county. The law was written hastily and it has obvious absurdities that even some cops commented on.
