Note that most cards that give you status don’t also give you the number of elite night credits it would take to achieve that tier. For example, the Brilliant card does give you platinum status, but you would be platinum status with the 25 night credits that the card gives, not the 50 that platinum status normally takes. That means that if you want to pursue the next level, titanium, you need to stay an additional 50 nights, not an additional 25 nights.

I'm titaniam elite, and the best I got at both the hotels I stayed in this year was 2 bottles of water with each visit...no phone key, no special rooms, no late checkout, and nothing extra to feel any different than anyone else.

Wow that is a bummer, you would think Marriott would take care of their most loyal customers

Yeah, we’re ambassador level and got such bad service the regional manager called but even he couldn’t give us anything to make us want to return to that particular Westin. Pretty wierd because we have been going there for a decade. Mind you , husband and I travel over 200 days a year and only book with Marriott. Guam Westin definitely dropped the ball.

I am a Titanium elite member as well and I have no problems enjoying the perks I deserve. Upon check in I always ask for a room upgrade and when I needed a late check 4 pm is what I get. Better off if I book on their premium and luxury hotels - their concierge lounge are the best. One time I had complained of a stained blood on their curtain window they comped me for 5k points.

You're getting screwed my friend. I'm the same status as you and JW Marriot gives me late checkout pretty consistently, unless it's a holiday and their completely booked. I also get free room upgrades without asking. I hope you get this fixed. We work hard for our money, my friend.

same. I rarely get upgrades and am constantly having to do missing stay requests

100k points for Sunday night at the Le Meridian that hosts the Monaco Grand Prix afterparty. Was $3000/night and "sold out" online!

I never had a preference on hotel brands. Chase gave me Marriott gold status, so I began using Marriott. The few times I have stayed at Marriott, I never received anything special. I did however paid more booking through Marriott than Orbitz.

Marriott price matches! If the reservation is the same they will price match and give a 25% discount on top!

Do you know how many points an account can receive each year? I'm seeing conflicting things on their website
@TravelHackers Жыл бұрын
According to Marriott website there is no limit to the amount of points you can earn. The only limit I saw was the amount of points you could have transferred from another member and that is 500,000. Hope that helps

Do you feel it is better to earn points or miles?
@TravelHackers2 жыл бұрын
I always try to earn points or miles based on the trip I am planning. Chase or AMEX points are probably more useful than hotel or airline specific points or miles since you can transfer them to travel partners.
