It does have a great location with many very good restaurants nearby, lots of tourist stuff to do within a short walk and very good public transit to get you everywhere else in the city you don’t find walkable. The location is this resorts selling point. Otherwise it’s just another hotel.

This was a very good review. I don't understand how they call this a vacation club. There is no pool, restaurant or any amenities that would make it a fun place to hang around. I'm sorry I booked it for my upcoming trip to San Francisco. It looked clean and well-maintained.

The Marriott SF Pulse has a really good location if your a tourist in SF. It’s within walking distance to a lot of things SF has to offer, public transportation and a lot of good restaurants. The Pulse is a good choice if your looking for a hotel room and a great location but don’t need a lot of the extras offered at many timeshare locations.

Oddly enough, we never spent the night. We were staying at the Ritz Carlton Club and Residences on Market. I had a studio unit exchange that was about to expire and decided to us it to exchange for a unit at the Pulse, just so we could see what it was like. Since it was a Marriott to Marriott exchange there was no cost.

What other hotel options are nearby? I must be spoiled but I like the San Diego Pulse room a lot better

There are several hotel options in the area, including a Marriott directly across the street. I have not priced out the cost of a hotel room in the area to compare with the cost in terms of maintenance fees for the Pulse, so it might turn out that it’s a decent financial proposition if you’re happy with what amounts to a hotel room in a hotel with few amenities.
