Been using the Gauss for just over a year now, in my opinion it is a great detector well built great display screen, easy to understand one you get used to it, , to ground balance it you first press the balance button, once it starts flashing, hold the balance button and pump the coil once you are happy with the balance push the pinpoint button which sets the balance which will appear bottom left of the screen, i find the intermediate settings is really good good, picks out the coins big style , on intermediate 83 84 thumping clear solid signal on copper coins , smaller coins usually high 70s again very clear signal , 50s and below tend to be smaller items, have not had a problem with chattering what so ever might just be the ground i have been on but in general a very quiet machine, picks out the iron no problem gives you the grunting in the background which as you learn the machine is just perfect, can on the odd occasion not pick up the large deep iron , looks and is a class above a lot of the MDS out there.

Looks a good build.. will be interesting to see the tones and tone break's 👍

There are no tone breaks, it does attenuate the sound according to depth and signal type but you cannot set any sort of tone, its discrimation mode is limited as well as you cannot notch out individual IDs. It`s a strange machine it does have preset search modes and operation modes and combinations of both which I have yet to get to grips with. This detector is somewhat different to my other detectors, I do like the weight and balance and it`s very quick recovery speed. I am very interested to see how Syd gets along with it as I have only tested it (for Hours) in the garden.

Another good video, thanks. For the balance I would try moving the grip down, I noticed that the Tiger coil made it slightly nose heavy and changed the grip and it feels much better. Not been out with it but have tested it on my test patch, Balancing is critical to this detector, I really like the HF3 mode on silver coins as it is really good.

@@bowiewalker2742I did manage to get out and about a coulple of times last week, and found the following, HF2 and HF3 are very good, if its to chatty drop from HF3 to HF2. This mode picks up a lot of signals including iron, if you cross the target then those with the iron will only give a one way signal - don`t dig, a good signal both ways is worth digging but be prepared to dig deep.

Nice modulation of tone. Vital requirement.. Sensible control box lay- out/ format. Nice big vdi numbers for the 'numbers peeps'... Looking forward to you getting the MD outside on pasture; listening to it 'speak'; and you having the craic with it. Only no's, from me, is the old screw type cam-lock, and non/semi wireless headphones. The cam-lock isn't a big issue I guess: but corded headphones? ....just my op mate, not slagging it. The volume certainly blew out any cobwebs, so it works ! With you on the 'feel'... Maybe do a vid in your yard once you've familiarised yourself with applying the instructions? Stay safe Sid.

I tell you what sid that's going to be a game changer I have always used the Mars goliaf coils they are amazing for a big coil the separation is amazing pinpoint it smack on under the stem and I have had a sceet loads of cut quarters and denarius and uncountable milled silvers I used one on a racer 2 and the depth was amazing I'd be digging signals that deep youd be convinced its iron with any other machine even the ctx and it would be a hammered I use a deus now and love it but it doesn't come close to the depth of the racer 2 or a garret 250 with a Mars golf coil ..that machine is built for that coil I bet it will be unbeatable. . Mars if your watching this get in touch with xp and get a goliaf built for the deus haha
