The newer updated version has atmospheric drag and heat when going trough the atmosphere. The speed you went trough it your rocket would be a fireball. Therefore you. Eed to learn qa way to build your rocket so the whole thing can reentry the atmosphere. And that twice if you want a render vous from Earth to Mars and Back. Also your Rendezvous Vous Rocket need to be big enough to take-off and go back to earth.

I learned that if you could reduce your velocity low enough, you wouldn't get burned upon reentry. That's how I survived my first mission to mars, although I can't go back lol

Well, im a bit late but landing on venus was easy before the reentry update because your rocket would not burn in the atmosphere and the parachute would stop you, in mars you need to waste fuel to stop your rocket thats why you landed first on Venus and not mars

I did it before buying the expansions. Its all trial and error and experimentation the more you play the more you get good at it just make sure to save the blueprints it'll save you alot of time.
