Magnifique restauration !

At 4:47 you can see on the very left the "pont transbordeur" a bridge used to move things faster from one side of the Old Port to the other. Bridge was destroyed by the Germans during WWII. You can also see far away a tower from the Fort Saint-Jean, still standing. 2nd building from the right, you see the city hall (with triangles shapes on the roof), build in 1653, still standing. The other buildings on this side of the port were all destroyed by the Germans. At 6:39 you can see on the left a bell tower still standing, and on the top right the large building of Hotel Dieu now Intercontinental Hotel, still there too.

Other than advances in modern medicine and things like that, literally mostly everything today sucks giant hairy ass in comparison to most of the 20th century. Yeah it's awesome having AC, cup holders, the ability to contact loved ones 400 miles away within 5 seconds, and all of the rest, but the bad severely outweighs the good sadly.

Well they could look forward to the recession, the next 25 years for them until after WW2 were not the best. We can compare it with our time, even if we seem to have everything in todays modern world, but both wars and recession seem to be happening as we speak, the next 20 years could be really tough for many.
