The pain of losing someone because of their own struggle is the most heartbreaking thing. It makes you feel guilty because you think of what you could’ve done to stop it. This song always makes me cry. One because I'm in a long distance relationship, but then two when I finally learned the true meaning behind the song after watching the video years ago, it broke me down. No one should be ridiculed or treated cruelly because of how they choose to live their life. Are you paying their bills? Then why be concerned about what they choose to do? I am a Christian and I was taught to show love to EVERYONE. Not everyone EXCEPT. The sooner people learn to accept and love others for who they are and not how they look or may choose to be, the better this world will be.

Even me as a straight male, I don't feel that its right to treat ppl different & disrespectful because of there sexual preference. It should never lead to abuse of any sort, rather it's physical or verbal. If u are against it, then don't say nothing to them, & I feel that's even more ignorant, but at least it's not physical. The world we living in, & this is coming from a straight male. The morale to this story is love your brother, sister no matter what. No matter if there gay, sick, homeless, no matter what. LOVE THEM.....

I love this song and video. It has one of the most powerful messages that is still prominant today. This is one of the reasons why people(mostly referring to men especially black men) don't come out about their sexuality. It's extremely stressful when you're being judge by people over something that is within you and can't be changed. It's worst when it's your family and friends. People really need to get a damn clue and let others live their life in peace.

This week will be a year since I lost my mom, the last time I saw her she drove all the way to my house to tell me to turn my phone on so we could talk more. I have so much regret and I can't believe she is so far away. This song makes me so reminiscent and incredibly sad.

there's no need for your regret, you have already been forgiven. now is the time to forgive yourself and live your life the way God, and your mother would want for you. I came to just listen to this song but after seeing your comment I couldn't help but say something. everything happens for a reason and no matter how hard life gets, just know that there is a purpose and it will be revealed to you eventually. I'll pray for you and your family tonight. have a blessed life, without regrets.

It was just so sudden and I was so selfish and distant not knowing time and life was so precious and running out. All I do is re read her messages and cry. Thank you for your words of comfort you have a sweet soul.

I was in so much fear of the reality that my mom died. My heart couldn't take it. My body shook with convulsions. My sweet mom kept insisting for years that the whole family get together for some kind of reunion The sad thing is that her bereavement was when we finally got together. I ask the Lord everyday to heal the pitiful , broken me . I will never take love for granted again

I understand how you feel Dionne. My mother passed away suddenly; coming up on 5 years ago. She would always say that I didn't call her and when she would call me sometime, I wouldn't answer because I was "busy". It's so easy to get caught up in our day to day and forsake the important things or people in our lives. Well, now my mom is gone and I wish that I could have those times back when she would call me, I definitely wouldn't be busy. I'm learning now to live in the moment and enjoy family and friends while I still can. Still my mom is with me daily---all of the lessons she gave me and she lives in my memories and heart. Your mom is there Dionne---your memories and in your heart. Keep the faith friend---I bet that is what your mom would want you to do. Those in your family who survive your mom...love them and enjoy them...make some time for them as much as you can. At the end of the day though don't forget...Christ has conquered the grave and if you belong to Him your latter will be greater than your past. I will say a prayer for you.

Growing up, my mother taught me not to put labels upon myself. Nor believe labels others attempt to attach to me. This video is deeper than two men. It's about seeing each other as human beings. Period. They werent "gay" men, whatever that means. They were men. And one should never judge from the outward appearance. One should look at the heart. Because we're all God's children and that, I stand with 100%. It's time to get rid of the terms "lesbian", "gay," "bisexual, " and "transgender." They're hurtful and only put people in bondage making them believe that they were born differently than any other human on this earth. We are all HUMANS. That is our ONLY identity.

Marsha, I have no doubt that you have changed and even saved lives with this touching song and video. It touched me deep, I was bullied for most if not all of my child hood for being dark skinned. I have seen people being bullied for their sexual orientation. We need more artists like you putting good music out that will change lives. Thank you for your story and may your friend rest peacefully 💜

So many people have no hope. Black, white, straight, gay, rich, poor, Jew, Gentile we all need Jesus. So many being deceived by the enemy and he has no power. Jesus declared all power in heaven and earth is in his hands. He even died for the infidel. Thank God for Jesus.

My father committed suicide in August of 2017 and I’m still not over it yet. Someone told me if I don’t let him go he’ll be stuck, but it’s very hard because he was like my best friend 💔 and I wish someone would have noticed he needed help, he hid it very well especially in front of me and my little brother. I knew this song before his death and I loved it so much! Right now I love it even more because I can relate even tho it hurts 💔

May sound like a lie...but I literally have over 30 close friends & relatives who have been killed in the streets, some took their own lives(overdoses & suicides). Others have been sick & some died in car crashes & fires. I hurt all day everyday but I still remain strong. Salute to everyone on here that has lost a love one & close friend. Stay strong & keep moving, I'm proud of you.💜💜💜

when I came out to my parents and they kicked me out and told the whole neighborhood. I got bullied and beat up almost everyday. I felt like I had no one. I thought about suicide but called my aunt that lives in New Hampshire first and told her every thing that was going on and she told me to come and live with her. I started to feel better about every thing. me and my parents lost contact but I still keep in touch with my brothers. I've found lots of new friends and people that care about me. I'm saying this because I want everyone to know that before you even consider suicide, tell someone what's happening, find other solutions to whatever the problem may be. remember suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. love you all

Your parents are wrong for that. And i don't agree with homosexuality but if you were my child ill still love you unconditional that's what parent's are here for.I'LL pray for my child to be delivered but never toss him or her out and shame them to neighbor's to get beat and possibly killed.shame on them smh

+teshawn67 Thank God for your aunt understanding and giving you a better atmosphere and starting over, my son came out to me a couple of years ago and I had his back since day 1, and I was ready for anyone to say anything or do anything negative towards him because that's what a parent is supposed to do love them unconditionally and protect their child from the cruel world not to throw them in with the wolves. Your parents did and they will pay for that. God don't like ugly, but still love them and pray for them cuz one day God will change their minds. I'm glad to see that life is better for you! always pray and keep God ahead of your life, because what he has for you is for you....
