Marshall presents the all new Marshall DSL100H 100 Watt Valve Amplifier Head - DSL is the acronym for 'Dual Super Lead', so it comes as no surprise that each amp has two footswitchable channels - Classic and Ultra. Furthermore, each of these channels boasts two modes, the Classic channel offers a Clean/Crunch option while the Ultra offers Lead 1 or Lead 2. Instead of merely offering a variation in gain level to the two channels, each one of these four modes on the Marshall DSL100 has been individually voiced as an amp in its own right. An onboard digital reverb can be adjusted for each channel, whilst tones can be shaped with master Bass, Middle, Treble and resonance controls whilst a tone shift switch allows for enchanced mid-frequencies.
The Marshall DSL100H features (3x) ECC83 preamp tubes with (1x) ECC83 and (4x) EL34 power output valves. A rear panel Pentode/Triode switch allows for the DSL100H to be dropped from 100w output down to 50w. This versatile head also features a bypassable series effects loop and comes supplied with a two-way footswitch. If you're seeking the traditional Marshall Rock/Metal sound but with a host of tonal and gain saturated distortion options then the Marshall DSL100H 100 Watt All Valve Amp Head could be for you - check it out now at the Nevada Music Warehouse ..

Just got this tonight. This amp absolutely kicks ass. I play metal and can find no reason to use the second gain stage. Just a good OD and you can tear the paint off the walls. Nice Cleans. And excellent articulation in the notes. My fingers feel electric. I have a 6505+ and this Marshall blows it away.

+jabberwocky1969 You can run it in triode (50w) or Pentode (100w) modes by flicking a switch on the back of the amp. I run mine in Triode and at about 3-4, lower than 3 and the 'tone' suffers (louder than 3 and my neighbours suffer).

Nice to hear a pro shop guy that can play. Ignore the last bone head. I had an interest in this as I own the JCM 2000 100 watt head and A and B cabs. Today I picked up a JCM 2000 401 combo and love having my Marshall tone back on small stages without having to load in a half or full stack and too much wattage. Great job brother from another pro player! As far as cranking it up pas two, good luck with that as the mic won't handle the sound pressure. lol

Tried this out today at a guitar center. It was good for clean,crunchy to ACDC type tones...other than that turning up the gain just got muddied out. It was pretty bad. Was playing through a Gibson les paul studio. ACDC type stuff it was rocking. Maybe because I wasn't playing it very loud but when I tried to dial in a more metal tone, the bottom end just got horrible sounding. Had to dial the bass knob way back and even then the tone wasn't that great. Played through 4x12 cab. Not sure what the first one was but the cab next to it was a 1960 figured it must be ok. same thing the bottom just couldn't hold. The tone shift made it even worse. Maybe it sounds better cranked? I was very tempted to get it much louder but i was inside the store so that wouldn't have worked out well. Spent about a solid 20 minutes messing with knobs trying to dial in a decent metal tone and just couldn't do it.

@@watchingthecrazyworld7761 I have this same amp and my suggestion which also goes for almost any amp - crunch channel set to the best you like it at, overdrive with its volume up all the way but gain almost at zero and tone to your taste, noisegate, then in the effects loop, an eq pedal. The eq pedal in the effects loop is what really sculpts the entire tone more than anything else. As for your revv pedal, I also have a g4 I run in the front at times for a different sound than the amps natural gain but I also use the overdrive pedal with it personally. Between the g4 and the amps gain, I do prefer the amps gain but the g4 is great for when I’m in the mood for something a little different. Happy chugging

@shaynejudkins9899
@shaynejudkins9899 7 жыл бұрын
The crunchy green channel is the best part of this amp and is basically cloned from the jcm2000 dsl100. The other 3 channels suck in comparison. The 2000 could get close to a jcm800 but had a little less grit (driving it with a ts9 will fix that) and it could get close to a jcm900 as well, the 100H doesn't even come close to them at all. The 2000 in normal red kinda sounds like an old plexi. The pushed red channel with a ts9 takes it almost into a MESA area, but the 100H takes it even farther in that direction than the 2000 could ... You have to ask yourself at what point do you get a Marshall because it sounds like a Marshall and a MESA because it sounds like a MESA? The 2 downfalls imho of the 2000 is that it didn't have a separate EQ for the 2 different channels and that there is a huge volume boost between normal green and pushed green channels. Neither of these two faults were fixed in the 100H ... YMMV. Cheers.

We all want to know the samething... what happens when you hit up a drop tuning, and open string palm mute the crap outa that head... does it have a nice tight thick resonant *chug chugggggg* or does it sound flat and hollow on the low end... can't seem to find a demo of something doing this. I was thinking of getting this head, and I was going to use my Ibanez baritone through it which is tuned to drop A. Perhaps this thing won't do it for me? Us metal heads know within 5 seconds if we like a head with those first couple deep chugs, seeing how it hits your chest and pushes bass.

I played one today, and I have to say, it definitely doesn't have the boom the 6505 does. Needless to say, I wasn't able to play it at an intense volume, but it definitely has a more "attack" sorta sound. I played with an ibanez s series, and it sounded like "Hunter/Killer" by Quo Vadis. Then I played through guitars with a 707 set and an 81/85 set and it definitely had a thicker sound, sorta like Dissection's Reinkaos album. Hope this helps!

Can I use this amp at bedroom levels?? And I'm getting a 2x12 cab
@blizzbee
@blizzbee 4 жыл бұрын
You can but the sound will be so much different. Marshall amp is designed to be cranked for goodness. Play quiet and it won't sound as good. For bedroom and band rehearsal, Marshall 20watt all tube head is more than enough.

Christian Gonzales but there's very few guitars to choose from go on your favourite guitar store website and search for left handed guitars you'll be shocked just how little there is to choose from

You have more hand strength in your fretting hand being left handed! You'll have to work a bit more on your picking hand technique and strength as it your weaker hand, but your left hand has an advantage on them strings than many right handed players! If I could, I'd go back and make myself left handed but have had learnt on a right handed guitar back when I started :) And I'd be one step closer to Gary Moore guitar domination haha, he was left handed but played right handed.

what the different between the A cabin or B cabin? i saw mx412 A cab and MX412 B cab ? is this a good buy (Marshall DSL100 Head and MX412A Cab Guitar Amp Half Stack) is $1,300 right now

A cab is Angled and B cab is straight. The A cab is better for all round use as it disperses sound better but B is more focused and has a tighter low end. And no, the MX412A is awful, look used for a Marshall 1960A or 1960B with Celestion G12T-75's in it. The DSL100 is supposedly brilliant though, I know Iron Maiden use them as the power section of their rig, but the JVM series are fantastic, I have a JVM205H with a 1960A and I love it to bits.

It should say in either the bottom corner of the grill cloth (there might be a badge there) or if you take the back of it off then it says the names of the speakers - and from that you can work out what model it is

right - what you should do - (this takes about 10 minutes) open up the back of your cab - the speakers will say on the back what model of speaker they are - if you tell me what speakers they are e.g. G12H 75 i can tell you what cab you have :) (oh and if you decide to open it make sure when you open it you dont yank it off as there are wires attached to the speakers from the back panel - just unplug them after you have opened it a tiny bit - enough to stick your arm in or whatever )

I have a dsl l 00 and it has a muddy distortion channel a nice clean and crunch but has no sustainability and I like legato playing which is virtually impossible on this amp..my thoughts are each one is different and mine is a few years old and has been serviced 4 times for biasing issues as well as switch issues ..TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH IT!!

why not try a delay pedal from Boss behind in the loop ?.......could help you a little....if the reverb doesn t do it ......I had the same problem with other amps ..no sustain... .that s why i lke my marshall 30 cfx with a litl bit of efects ...even if it lacks the dinamic ...cause it s a combo

I've had my DSL100H about 2 weeks now. It's incredible. Lead 1 can do some amazing sounds similar to the 2203. With the right tubes I could probably get it even closer if not on point. I'm running it through a T75 2x12 and it's just really great. Clean channel is the biggest surprise. It's really nice

You were joking with the "best Marshall ever" statement weren't you? Surely you don't believe these are better that an original jtm-45 or plexi, such as what Duane Allman used live.
