Very similar to the Paraw boats and the bangka. The sails also look the same. Very cool.

@@rickrry An oldie music but the lyrics goes back to ancient times. I’m not sure what the title is but it’s about the beauty of a canoe and how bless we are to engineer such watercraft. Canoes are foundations of pacific island culture. Without it we are noting.

Sail canvas available from eBay or Amazon. Or if you want t go old school just weave some coconut fibers together to make one.

Great sailboat! Any plans somewhere? I'm french, living in Bangladesh and building canoes these days... Here all fishing boats have turned to diesel... I'd be really pleased to show its possible to fish with a sail! Greetings
