Great video. I was always afraid to snip the c12 cap, thinking I wouldn't like it, but this video gives a great comparison of the cap on and off. I decided to snip it and like it much better now. I'm a bedroom player and it makes it less harsh and smoother for me. (I have a 50 watt jcm 2000 dsl like you.) Thanks!

That's really awesome,.... I just purchased a 2005, The previous owner says I don't need nothing but I'm seeing It still has the stock tubes, The tone sounds like a fuzz pedal from hell in my opinion, doesn't sound like it should , would you switch out the tubes?

I ended up removing the c12 cap completely and soldering in a 120pf silver mica cap and (for me) it sounds the best overall. 470pf was too much loss of bass, clipped was too much bass, but 120pf is just about right...

@@acbguitarz1158 I already did it. The c4 for the green channel. Thanks!

@@Crq69 does c4 dampen the green channel crunch, or what bring it out more?
@Crq69 Жыл бұрын
@@leftoveraz It works more like a treble bleed, cutting off the c4 does sound in low volume the same like a high volume. And yes dampen the crunch channel because when you turn down the volume, with the c4 add high frequencys. Sorry if my inglish sucks :)

whatever the reason, I accidentally found the JCM 2000 sounds amazing with Stratocasters especially HSS strats (esp the bridge pick up), unfortunately I sold mine (stupid move) but just re-bought a 2007 100w, out of town over the internet, but what I'm finding with this one, both channels have absolutely no bottom end and a lot of gain loss, seller claimed tubes are all good, (I found original Marshall brand pre-amp tubes, and very cheap old looking power tubes), I don't trust him because he claimed the head was in excellent condition knowing the power pilot light and channel light flicker several times (in unison) when turning on the amp, one time it flickered and stayed off, I obviously need to take it in ASAP but I need him to agree so its covered under his so-called 90 day warr he's denying me on, he said when the amp becomes disabled to let him know, I even paid his extra couple hundred dollar price thinking I was purchasing Peace of Mind but instead I got this ($900 usd) I was hoping maybe something jumped out at you in my description, if so I'd appreciate it 👍

So i do believe , there are replacement circuit boards for your model if that is the issue , i would take the amp to a tech have them scope the amp , something is not right ( frustrating been there ) here my tone demo , HSS strat straight in front end ( red channel ) see settings nothing else ... thats the tone crunchy clean . I had an issue with volume spiking up and down drove me crazy . issue fixed This is what i did . cleaned all pots , input and out jacks , there is a speaker jack mod i did to avoid any other issues which was recommended ( i saw online ) oh yeh changed tubes now !!!!!! Just a killer amp love it . try the above for starters cheapest way out for now . please discharge amp high voltage is killer you can get a shock bad shock w e dont want that .

The biggest reason I sold my 3 Marshall's. They were all too fizzy sounding at lower volumes

You can add or remove C12 cap , for red channel to sound warm tone like green channel . No question is ignorant this is how we learn by asking questions my friend .

@@acbguitarz1158 thank you I just purchased it JCM 2000 DSL 50 and I believe it has this switch and it plus there's another switch that's in the EQ stage once below the EQ and then the other one is right below the gain pedometer I'm wondering what the one would be that's in the equalizer section their dip switches I bought it from guitar center I seen it had these on the picture
