Good & informative video. Please add reference as per MS.02 In the Middle East, all mix designs are followed by MS.02, which is a reference standard that includes guidelines for the design and production of asphalt mixtures. These guidelines are based on international standards such as ASTM and ASHTOO. Thanks

Hello sir, myself Prushottam Kumar from Bihar currently working in a private firm as a Quantity Surveyor for highway projects. BTech civil engineering graduate 2014 from Cochin University of science and technology. I have a keen interest in highway pavement design like Design of earthworks layer, embankment and subgrade, gsb and wmm layers, dbm and bc layers , with step by step procedure with given condition. During BTech, I have performed several tests on soil, aggregate and bitumen. I am thinking of mtech from transportation engineering from nit or iit. Your videos are conceptual, crystal clear with the thoughts. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dear sir how we are control loss of stability in Asphalt wearing Coarse it is coming More than limit percent
@SatishIITR
@SatishIITR 3 ай бұрын
You mean retained stability is less than code value. It shows that there is problem in the binder. Stability loss indicates the stripping in the mix. Either increase the fine content or use some anti-stripping agent.

Sir what is the difference between drum mix and batch mix design mix please explain
@SatishIITR

A batch mix plant produces finished mixtures in batches with short intervals, whereas a drum mix plant can continuously produce mixtures without any interruptions. Both are in use and both have advantages and disadvantages depending upon the size and type of the job.

Dear respected sir , Please explain why we provide voids in bituminous mixes , These are for what purpose??
@SatishIITR
@SatishIITR 3 ай бұрын
Two reasons. (1) the layer cannot be compacted to zero air voids, neither in the lab nor in the field and therefore, there will always be some air voids, and (2) Air voids in a layer provide some space for secondary compaction in the field (compaction due to moving traffic) which is needed to avoid cracking and bleeding in the pavement,

@@SatishIITR sir, actually I just started working on my thesis and topic is "effect of glass fibres on bituminous mix " Is it compulsory to use filler material? What if I don't use any filler material and simply mix bitumen with mix design aggregates (fine and coarse)

@@randomshit6070 Any material passing 75 micron sieve is a filler material. The final grading should have some material passing this sieve. It may be stone dust, lime or cement, but not the sand.
